[quote]after just 3 short years. Woodward was able to make an entire fanbase believe his sins were so egregious he’d never coach again, much less for a P5 in a great conference. The great deceiver.[/quote you sound like you suffer from complete Woodard derangement syndrome

There was a lot going on behind the scenes. I’m aware of it. What you fail to understand is that LSU men’s basketball needed a disrupter to fight the administration and get them to make the program a priority. Wade did that, but McMahon doesn’t. Beyond his bad in-game coaching, McMahon’s refusal to go against the administration within may be his worst failure of all.

Go to another board loser. We all know you’re a cuck while WW pounds your wife.

Woodward should be fired over this. He cost us a generational talent

This was a smoke screen to sell to fans. The NCAA has had zero power in well over a decade. We were on the cusp of full fledged NIL and pay for play. The NCAA wasn’t doing jack shite to LSU. LSU crumbled while Kansas and Auburn didn’t. It’s really that simple.

Woodward knew all this. He used it as an excuse to fire Wade. He fire a good coach to hire his man. He didn’t think it would backfire this badly.

LSU on the death penalty the last three years would’ve had more SEC wins than McMahon. And we missed the tourney anyway

Forde and Dickie weren't going to stop their campaign against Wade. Woodward folded under the pressure or was happy to have an excuse to bring in his own man.

I’m glad Wade is not in the SEC. Wade will most likely do well at NC State and LSU will keep sucking.

Im not sure we'll ever strike gold on another basketball coach like we did with Will Wade

The only people who thought this were gullible idiots. The heavy majority recognized he would be back in P5 within a few years

Come on man, if the NCAA had something on the football program they would’ve punished them regardless of what happened to Will Wade. The NCAA threatened Woodward and he was too stupid to see through it

Hmmm
Self imposed scholarship reductions. Self ban from post season. And a couple more items on recruiting.

They had a bunch and threatened to pull it in.

I forever will dislike Dick Vitale and Pat Ford for whatever reason why they thought they had to go after the general.

That reason would be the biggest cheater in any college sport still

LSU will go down as one of the few, and the last, schools to self impose the death penalty on its basketball program

If this is how you view it do you believe the Texas and Citrus Bowl invites were worth destroying the men’s basketball program?
You’ve said this a few times now. It makes no sense and you know that.

I’ve said it because I’ve been told many times that Woody had to sacrifice WW to the NCAA or the NCAA would have come down hard on the football program. I’m speculating on what those football sanctions would have been if Woodward would have stuck with WW. A ban on two years of post season play seems like reasonable speculation. So the choice is retain WW and lose out on Texas and Citrus Bowl invites or destroy the basketball program and retain the Texas and Citrus Bowl invites?

Were you in a coma Johnny Jones’ last season? The program was dead when Wade arrived. Wade resurrected the program and performed a miracle.

It’s hindsight and a useless exercise. As the AD of LSU, you don’t even think twice about it if there is the slightest chance football gets severe penalties and you have an escape hatch being your basketball coach who has been embroiled in scandal his entire tenure.
