I'd bet #0 will take a pay cut at his next gig. Good luck

Why come back and risk injury, lowering your stock even more when you can have your entire life changed in April?

Because his entire life won't change in April. He'll be drafted in the 3-5 rounds. Get a six figure signing bonus and have a shitty contract for four years with nothing guaranteed.

What would be life changing is to prepare hard this offseason, mentally and physically and come out next year and show that you are more than just measurables. You are a dominant player. Then you get drafted in the first round and get a 7 or 8 figure signing bonus with a good contract that is fully guaranteed.

I don’t know who is in Smiths ear that has this kid thinking he is NFL caliber.

What a waste.

you guys act like the possibility of becoming a millionaire tomorrow wouldn't make you say frick everything else.

Nothing is guaranteed, but he’s not becoming a millionaire overnight. 3rd round picks were only guaranteed $1.5m over life of contract and $6m and less on life of contract.

He couldve stayed and been coached by the best DL coach and moved his draft stock up exponentially.

"Smith had to know Davis was coming."

I'm not sold on the idea they tell players much. The whole world would know 15 minutes later.

As I have said since before the season started Maason's inner circle was pushing for him to go pro after this year regardless. The hire literally meant nothing to him and his inner circle. He was always going to be 3 and done.

Maason probably made this decision shortly after the bowl game

Still never understood his decision to do this. His draft grading would be much improved by another year.

Davis will get a portal guy that will produce 10 time what smith did…. hint that won’t be hard to do

He would be entering his 4th season, having contributed squat. Don’t know what people are panic about. It’s not like they’re replacing an all SEC DL.

Maason made the decision while being recruiting. I’m sure O promised him three years and you will be in the NFL.

no one is going to stay or go pro based on who we’re hiring to be his position coach.

Any idea what kind of NIL money he was making?

Mason Smith is not going to be a millionaire from the NFL draft. Grow up.

What if he was asked to leave? What if we knew Bo was coming and we have replacements in mind?
