Handout is not asking for assistance with a task. Handout is asking for a physical object, typically money, to be given to you.

That is a handout. A handout is goods or services for assistance that is given for free. Which is what was being asked.
You can believe differently but a Facebook post asking for handouts is entitlement. You wouldn’t make the post if you didn’t think it was owed to you. Instead of reaching out to contractors or insurance you make a post on Facebook.
You can agree or disagree. But I disagree with these actions.

I was thinking entitlement was more having a tree fall on your house and asking for Homeland Security to show up....

It’s a Sunday on a holiday weekend, calling on your network to get some people out there that have tarps handy is probably smarter than waiting on a company to show up even if you’re skip Bertman

Yes it is. They rebuilt it completely and that fire actually started in the garage the first time also. I grew up across the street from them. Theres been several trees for years that were iffy at best in the area.
