I have heard Skip give many speeches throughout the years. He was one of the most captivating speakers I have ever heard and was funnier than 99% of the stand up comics I have ever heard.
The most memorable speech was at an event at the Jefferson Orleans right after Saban was hired. The three speakers on the dais were Skip, Saban and John Brady. Skip was at his best that day, probably wanting Saban to hear his best material for the first time. He gave a masterful performance, using his best jokes and stories. I have followed Saban very closely throughout the years and I can say that that is the only time I have ever seen him cracking up laughing.
