I'll try to remember to come back and vote again; it says you can vote daily.

Much appreciated!

You are right, you can vote daily. I can bump the thread if the admins don't mind me doing it.

An update...Aarya went against the seniors for the first time.
He lost to Brady Ellison (World Rank #2) in the quarter finals with the scores of 30-29, 28-27, 29-25. He finished 5th overall. Hopefully, he keeps going at it.

Long-time reader here, and hoping to get some help from the Tiger nation.

My son Aarya Arun who just turned 16, is a Tiger like the rest of you. He's also a competitive recurve archer, and he's been nominated for Youth Athlete of the Year, which comes down to a public vote.

The short version of him:
12 national records, a world record, and this fall he represents the United States at the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar. He's also #1 in his class with a 3.9 GPA. He'd never tell you any of that. What he will do is stop what he's doing to help another archer with their form, at a practice range or on a video call at some ridiculous hour, whether they're eight or forty.

I don't like asking strangers for favors, but the voting is free and takes about ten seconds, and a kid who doesn't ask for anything should have someone asking on his behalf.

If you want to see for yourself before you vote, search Aarya Arun and archery— it's all out there.

Voting closes: August 27, 2026.

Geaux Tigers!
"Under jersey retirement bylaws established Jan. 1, 2007, retiring an athlete's jersey doesn't prevent a current student-athlete from wearing that number, subject to the head coach's discretion."

So, it's a bad look for JD5!

I thought the Heisman trust presents two trophies, one for the player and one for the university. So, he's not winning this either. Another extremely bad look antagonizing the entire fanbase.

RIP Skip! One of the greatest. What a legacy!!!
Lane has a new formation with 4 QBs in one play, specially for Ole Miss.

Many here are pissed off that they were wrong in saying he would never come back than the actual hiring (with no bearing on the future results, good or bad.)

He went what 1/254” of an inch higher than his last world record?

Until anyone challenges him, he will keep doing it. What's wrong in being the world's best again and again and again especially when he's getting paid everytime?
It's like people whining that someone is getting a bonus for every sale made!
The only positive outcome of NIL is College Baseball or at least it sounds like it.

What a tool!!!
Special teams for sure. That 7 is the difference. ??

But ever since 2019, you guys have talked a big off season game and not delivered.

Remember 1980 and how long it's been before your next championship?
We will be back in the mix sooner than that.
In the NIL era, the obscene accumulation of talent just with the top teams no longer exist.
The decline of Bama, OSU, and Georgia could be attributed to the same reason. This distribution makes it possible for a lot of other teams to catch the lightning in the bottle. You JUST had be to be slightly better with some luck.

It's IU this year and probably somone completely different next year.

That said, there's no way IU is better that 2019 LSU. That was a very very special team! Some of the teams that we beat that year could beat IU this year.

That needed to have the Ole Miss coaches and the manning/fans.

That's a fishing net!
You focus your life on losing on a Sunday morning. What does that say about you?

It was the OL. That was supposed to be BK’s specialty. He did not deliver.

Cause!

What part of the bargain didnt he hold up?

"Judge me by year 3"!
We have regressed since with no signs of improvement. With CBK next year, we are most likely looking at more losses. For me personally, he being on the sidelines have sucked out the fun of college football. It's the "way" that we lost games or even win in some.
Any assistant coach with reasonable P5 experience, inexpensive (3 mil or less per year ->more NIL money), 3-4 year contract, young, and willing to put in the work with no bull-shite, and no fake drama trying to "fit" in. Basically an UNKNOWN would have worked better!
Worst case, we could have had the same results and contract would be over!

He's not immature anymore. However, it's hard to contain the devil in him for long though. He will spew something from time to time! ??
Kelly underestimated EVERYTHING.
1. The expectations of our fanbase (Sure, we're spoiled!)
2. Winning openers.
3. Winning teams consistently in the SEC.
4. NIL era
5. Getting to the playoffs with the 12 team expansion
6. The buyout (thinking it's going to stop from being fired).
7. The buy in from players to win (He's NOT a players' or people person who thought that people would just pour their hearts to win here.)
