we have a bad OL and Kelly knew he needed a mobile QB. And Nuss was prone to some bad decisions. Thus, it's Daniels.
Now, I think Daniels has done well, considering the OL and the terrible play calling from Denbrock.
But I also believe that Daniels need to be quicker and more aggressive throwing downfield. Some of Daniels scrambling is because of the OL, but some is because he's too hesitant to sling it downfield.
This board has given Brennan way too much credit. He wouldn't have survived in this offense, behind this OL.

No safe zone Let him set a roster his roster, he came in with 37 scholarship players, Good God guys , that’s 50 players less than Good teams. He was hired to fix a mess not win the Championship year one.

I just don’t think Brennan was the same guy anymore.
A lot of us tried to push for Brennan but no, everyone always wants the newest thing put

I was A big Brennan guy, but if he wasn’t putting the work into the new system then he could easily get passed up coming off almost 2 years off and a serious arm injury.

he had crap o line before. would he be sacked some? sure. but he would also get it out faster and hit open guys downfield. go back and watch his three games starting.
keep moving the goalposts for your boy JD. who even with his speed is sacked plenty for obvious reasons!

Its obvious the fans who say Brennan couldn't scramble or run are delusional.
He moves, avoids DL, and was on target.
His OL wasn't much different than this years OL. If you check the time he and Daniels have to throw, the only difference was Brennan saw the field and hit his target. It appears to be a different game.
Don't know what Denbrock and Kelly saw, but it's scary, disappointing that we let him go and kept Daniels.

wanna set up a safe space for CBK until the new recruits show up on campus fall '23? No judgement zone!
Or we could just exercise some common sense and recognize that giving the guy at least one recruiting class to see how things are looking is a reasonable stance and refrain from acting like idiots in the meantime

Business Decision
the business decision is Daniels or Nussmeir at this point. If Daniels ever clicks on the throwing he could be a Heisman guy but at some point the experiment is over.
Nuss creates a new predicament for BK. If he comes in and develops it puts Walker Howard in a tight spot. I think you take the bird in the hand and if Nuss gets it done so be it.
This is the decision because like it or not we are only a decent QB away from Top Tier SEC. I am not expecting miracles but the time is now for the guys that stuck around.

Do you not remember how bad the OL was on 2020? That is what blows that narrative out of the water. The 2020 OL was as bad as this OL and Myles was still putting up video game numbers.
It really seems like a very poor player evaluation at this point. Coaches tend to be stubborn by nature, Kelly and Denbrock decided to go all in on Daniels and refuse to change. That is my biggest frustration, at least make an attempt to change, we aren’t even doing that.

You can’t honestly think that MB would be better after seeing how this line plays. JD is there bc he can make plays with his feet.

Your are assuming the OL Brennan played behind in 2020 was any better, they were not. This line is about the same. Go back and watch film from the first 3 games in 2020.

If you’re doing that then look at wr play and look at separation those receivers got then vs now. It’s so many different scenarios that make JD better for this system. Play calling is different. Route running is different. I’m not saying it’s a good thing. I wish we had a competent qb but JD is better for what we got going

Yes. More like fall of 2024 before we are consistently competitive
That being said, the hires of DumbRock and Polian look as bad as any Orgeron and Miles hires so far.

The difference is Daniels. Brennan played w a crap line and Pellini’s historically bad defense. Brennan went through progressions and threw guys open which is something Daniels just can’t do. I wish Daniels could do it but he just can’t. Brennan would throw it away before taking a sack. It’s a shame MB only got what 3 or 4 games as a starter but it’s obvious he knew he wasn’t going to be the guy this fall and decided he was done.

Go watch the video.
And I'll turn uyour argument on its head. You can't honestly think what you see in Brennan is worse than what you've seen the past six weeks.
QBs can make plays by reading defenses and quick releases as well as quick feet.

We’d be 5-1 with Brennan. Daniels is absolutely abysmal. He makes Jefferson look good

Les, post-'08, didn't require a QB to develop. CBK is at the opposite end of the spectrum. It doesn't matter who else develops. We could have the whole '19 skill pos players sans Burrow and the offense would be the same.
This is so dumb I don’t even know where to start.

There is a difference between judgements and criticisms and the adults know the difference. You can make a criticism with out making a judgement. There is not enough body of work to make a judgement. Anyone who knows what a judgement is would be ridiculous to make one now. Fine to criticize. I think it was stupid not to find someway to get Perkins on the field the entire game. But I'm not making any judgements of the coaches other than I think that was a mistake. I expect them to learn from their mistakes juts like the players need to do. Expect improvement from this year to next year and in yr 3 I expect to be competing for a championship of some kind. But all of this melting by game 6 when you look at where we were in February is just hilarious.
