Mettenberger never won a game that mattered. If you look back at his stats he piled up yards against cupcakes.

Mett’s second half against Bama in 2012 is as good as any half Burrow ever had (minus Oklahoma, of course). Don’t look at just the numbers. That 2012 Bama defense was stacked and Mett and company carved them up for two quarters until Miles quit playing offense one first down short of winning the game.

Jamarcus had 2. So did Flynn. Rohan had 6.

So according to the LSU media guide (and adding Max’s games this year) the all-time list is:
#1 - Joe Burrow (15)
#2 - Rohan Davey (7)
#3 - Max Johnson (5)
T-#4 - Myles Brennan (3)
T-#4 - Zach Mettenberger (3)
T-#4 - Jamie Howard (3)
T-#7 - Matt Flynn (2)
T-#7 - Jamarcus Russell (2)
T-#7 - Matt Mauck (2)
T-#7 - Tommy Hodson (2)
T-#7 - Jeff Wickersham (2)
T-#7 - Danny Etling (2)

Curious how many if the Etling ones were after he left. I'm guessing all 3

Two things explain a lot of this; Joe Burrow and throwing because you are losing abd playing from behind.

Yeah, the media guide lists QB’s with 3+ career 300 yard games and 2+ single-season 300 yard games. So anyone who had 2, but in different years, would not be listed there. I think Etling is the only one but there may be others.

My memory of '13 is LSU slinging it all over the place. You go back and look at the actual stats and it's just OBJ and Landry.

Still the first team in SEC History with a 3,000 yard passer, multiple 1,000 yard receivers, and a 1,000 yard rusher.

I can only find 2 Ettling game with 300 plus. Both vs aTm those guys.

For Met, he had another 7 games between 250 & 300.

Lee and Jefferson were in very different offenses. We were a run first, TOP controlled style offense (like most of the SEC and much of the top tier college football landscape at the time). We just weren’t evolving like we should have. 200 plus games for those two
Lee - 5 games, one over 250. 4 in his freshman year
Jefferson - 7 games, two over 250. 5 in his sophomore year

Would be interesting to do a deep dive into rushing numbers each year as well.

Mett would throw the ball leas than 25 times a game

It’s amazing he had as many yards as he did.

Agree. Many LSU fans want to compare the Miles era to Brady/today's spread era. You can't.

No surprise to me that Max is atop the list. We were throwing the ball 50 times a game to start the season when we had no running game.

People also forget that jennings played in several games in 2013. Wed shut it down and run out the clock most games.

Get back to me when a LSU QB out performs Ro's 528 passing yards @ Bama in 2001. Ro to Reed, Ro to Reed, etc.
