SEC needs to stop making rules after the players were already in the fricking building. THAT is the imbalance created. It closed the door for other schools.

I get the feeling that if the SEC were to kick LSU out of the SEC; they would then get absolutely raw dogged by ESPN/ABC for damages related to the SEC/ESPN media contract.

The rule only applies to the NFL, NBA and WNBA drafts. I haven't read the AL Complaint, but it appears the SEC is asking for a declaratory judgment that LSU, Kiffin, Rouse broke the rule by recruiting "pro players"...even though the rule was not implemented until AFTER the TRO was entered. Presumably, the SEC will argue about LSU's post rule conduct. That said, I'm betting other SEC schools "recruited" some of the players affected by the TRO.
30,000 foot view. The SEC knows the court will rule in the players favor today and, from all indications, LSU plans to have them on the roster Saturday. The SEC knows enforcement of the rule over a court order may be a tough argument, so they are trying to intimidate LSU into not rostering the players on their own volition.
I could be wrong, but I don't think this LSU administration is going to piss its pants like the prior admin would.
