2. Auburn — Auburn: 108
3. Ole Miss — Oxford: 127
4. Texas A&M — College Station: 171
5. Oklahoma — Norman: 260
6. Kentucky — Lexington: 262
7. Missouri — Columbia: 348
8. Georgia — Athens: 406
9. Arkansas — Fayetteville: 424
10. Texas — Austin: 467

Nashville and Davidson County have a consolidated government so the Nashville police report numbers for the whole county.
Also,
Lots and lots of assault if you dig in the numbers.
It makes sense, dumbasses get drunk on Broadway, get in a fight, get arrested for assault, repeat for X number of locals and tourists.

Baton Rouge is not safe for a city of just 250,000.
The metro area is near 900,000, and the violent crime skyrockets as many suburban areas around the city can be as violent as Baton Rouge.

If you report crime per capita for a county with only one big city, the city's crime rate is worse than the number reported. The county isn't dragging Nashville down.

It’s really not fair to judge a whole city as big as Nashville or Baton Rouge. I’ve loved living in Baton Rouge (the city) and never felt unsafe ever, including events downtown. But there’s pockets I would never visit. That goes for any city.

PS. Austin is a great city to visit but there are stretches downtown where you have to dodge passed out homeless people for several blocks. There are definitely pockets of unsafe places in Austin also. It’s no different than Nashville. I kinda question this list.

College Station has issues in certain parts of the city. They like to be called Bryan/College Station and if Bryan's numbers were added, the number would be quite a bit higher. When I was a principal there, we had plenty of issues from those areas. Those are areas of apartments and houses where students used to live because they are older and all of the new "student resorts" that have popped up all over town.

It’s definitely changed since I went into the military and was stationed at Ft. Hood. Used to go there on weekends and still visit now on business. You can see the difference

Austin’s liberal policies and voting from Californian immigrants are driving those same policies, agendas and demographics that permeates the big cities run by their type of politics. Of course, most major cities are politically liberal.
In addition, while Austin was a relatively beautiful and clean city, that is no longer the case.
All that to say, black crime is not THE major factor in Texas others believe. Perhaps in the violent crime statistics. Rather, family violence, high rates of homelessness, and the rising illegal immigrant numbers are major factors combined with policies that contribute to the problem of overall crime.
What a complete load of bullshite.

Starkville has an underrated hood. There are definitely a couple of places there that you don't want to be after dark.
