That is rich, isn’t it!? It’s a little late for the self righteousness from these guys who just now decided to have a zoom call and issue a statement. Lol

the lines have BEEN blurred bruh....

and this reads like a "guys, c'mon, pretty please don't do this" rather than "you cannot do this"...

seems like there ain't much the SEC, or the NCAA for that matter, can really do at this point

There is nothing more they can do than make this statement.

Let's just put out the word to all the guys that left with an extra year of eligibility. If the pros were not everything yo expected and you realized you made a mistake declaring for the pros, we got your back. Come on back to college, we'll find you some easy courses. Our boosters will pay a smart undergrad to do your schoolwork and you can devote all your time to football and we'll pay you straight up half a million or more . Then you can see if you can play yourself into a better draft position.

Hey , it's on us doesn't matter if you've been in the league for a few weeks or a few years. We're positively shameless. Plus ESPN mostly is still gonna pay us stooooopid amounts and get us to expand the playoff

They can’t stop it and would be stupid if they did. Cause let’s face it, if they don’t come to LSU or Texas etc. then they will go to big time contenders in other conferences. Would u rather a team in your conference get better or help out of conference teams to where your chances of an SEC National Champion go down. Don’t have to like it but don’t help other conferences out. I’m fine with these guys cause they only went to draft as it was only option. They should have ruled on 5 for 5 at different time or included this class. Who knows if it had been approved Jan 1 then these guys may have entered portal and not draft and end of discussion. Don’t see any uproar for kids from small schools that didn’t even make a NFL training camp coming back to school somewhere

Define professional.

I think the bigger question is if the SEC will pursue their rule of SEC school transfer to SEC school and how that player must sit out a year unless done through the proper early year portal window. They may not like the NFL but that is a legal issue likely outside of their purview. The transfer rule is something they might, MIGHT be able to sink their teeth into. I ain’t a lawyer, but that could be interesting.
