You are exactly right. Amazing how many can’t see the big picture

In my youth when I was full of piss and vinegar I thought diplomacy was for cowards and back stabbers. I still do and it still is, but I now clearly see how effective and useful it can be if done properly.

Landry is a shite politician and there was a reason he didn’t do debates (hint it wasn’t because of a biased moderator).

I actually agree with the letter they wrote to Landry.

F’kn A. The Democratic Party in Louisiana is one of the most inept organizations ever, but they nailed it in their letter.

Perfect response. Let Landry look like a fricking idiot as he continues to do. Louisiana has a million problems but he focuses on this non issue. Stupidity

He should have said nothing. Don’t dignify vapid virtue signaling with a response and keep doing what you do. Because here is the reality, LSU sports transcends political ideologies and is FAR more popular than a bozo Governor.

I think I would have written a private letter to the Governor saying “drive from the mansion to LSU. Either via Nicholson Dr or Highland Rd. Take your pick. Fix that issue which plagues LSU FAR more than staying in the locker room for the national anthem. THEN we can discuss whatever meaningless sound bite you want to bring up.

Would have been nice to have the head coach of Army issue a statement on why they missed the national anthem when at Tiger Stadium.

Now a response from Landry, refers to the team as 'girl's' basketball and not 'women's' basketball.

then cries to NCAA Pres Baker

On the surface it looks like he pussied out. But I don’t think he wants or needs to escalate anything with our dumbass Governor. (who may end up being more incompetent and ignorant than his predecessor). Don’t let the R fool you, he’s definitely a dumbass.

This is why I sort of wish Scott hadn't responded or perhaps that he omitted the review of processes. Landry took the response as change in our processes already. He sees the response as a win for his position and isn't giving up.

Damn Landry really knows how to step in it.

As if LSU athletics never honors the flag

I hope he continues to push the issue. At a time when the country’s pride and morale is most certainly at a low point, someone needs to step up.

I would have loved to see the response be nothing but Scotty taking a crap on Landry's letter.

But, the reality is Landry is Scott's indirect boss. Landry appoints the BOS, who picks the president of the university, who picks the AD.

We all know by this point that Landry is a vindictive SOB, so they had to tread carefully. I'm sure the athletic department was forced to say something, so they did.

Scott gave Landry an off-ramp, and as we could have expected, Landry is too stupid and vapid to take it.

Also, I'm fairly sure the NCAA doesn't give a rat's rear about what Landry wants.

The good news is... in a few weeks, Landry and his trolls will find a new issue to get all ginned up about, and won't worry about this one anymore.

SO the way to improve morale and pride is to force people to do something they don't want to do?

It is pretty simple for me. If state universities do this, they won't be getting any money from me. My kids will go out of state, and I won't go to events or buy merch.

This is a direct attack on First amendment rights.
