I would love for LSU to have the buy in and balls to go get a known successful coach like that. He can get top talent and gets to the tourney regular and has made many deep runs over the years. LSU fans should be ecstatic if we had a coach do that consistently whether we one it all or not. Props to Arky for seeing an opportunity and shooting for the moon whether it works out or not

he isn't a good coach. He had some good years because he bought all the talent in the world and was able to out talent college basketball by a mile and still only won 1 title.

Guy is vastly overrated.

There is a glaring issue if a coach is hired away from Kentucky

Getting Calipari would be like Kansas hiring Les Miles when they hired him. His last Nat'l Champ was like 2012. Has done nothing since, with all the talent you can handle. He's a loser in a million dollar suit

He is overrated but to the OP's point Arky is shooting big to go get Kentucky's basketball coach. We shoot big in everything but men's basketball.

Don’t mind if I do. Slimeball used car salesman who has received violations everywhere he’s been. Would much rather have the top recruiting class and send multiple 1st round picks to the league each year instead of developing an older team that could win titles. No one does less with more. No thanks.

Coach Cal is done. He got in way too deep and pulled back. He’s lucky to still be coaching. Still pisses me off that they went after WW. Scape goat…

It will definitely be interesting. Arkansas currently has 1 player on their roster so according to the rant he needs at least 3 years before you can judge him.

I’d be willing to bet Arkansas has a better team than lsu next year

Yep. And that issue is that Kentucky fans are the most entitled pricks in the world. They are worse than Alabama football fans.

Over the last 5 years, Coach Cal and McMahon have the exact same number of NCAA tournament wins

1

At KENTUCKY!

That’s inexcusable. Your definition of “the moon” sucks

Cost-Benefit analysis says no. You cannot overpay for mediocre results. And that is exactly what Cal has delivered. He has 2 top 10 draft picks on a team that lost to Lsu in the regular season and then bounced in the 1st round of the tournament. That cannot happen to a coach paid top 3 in thhe country. That is Jimbo Fisher level mediocrity. No way you go get that guy.

Guy is an averaged coach IMO.
If he can’t have sustained success at Kentucky with the talent he has there, he can’t win anywhere.
Would he be an upgrade for us, sure.

Agreed. Ky is willing to let him go? That should be a tip off for anyone. He's done. He'll win games but not tournaments.

WE have one now and he is fixing to own the SEC starting in 2026.
