Arky did UcK a huge favor and made a massive buyout disappear ($33 million). The powers that be at UcK contemplated firing Calipari after this past season. Don't know if I would be banging his drum as he was wearing out his welcome in Lexington.

Yes winning titles matters but he has a stellar winning % in March and has been to 6 final fours And prior to buying lottery picks he won his conference 5 straight years at UMass and took them to a final 4 It’s a damn good hire for Arkansas IMO even if he’s overrated

Look at his final 5 years at Kentucky vs his first 10. His final 5 years resulted in exactly 1 NCAA tournament win. One win. In 5 years.

All Cal is at this moment in time is a Big name whose best years are all behind him.

It’s a bad hire by Arky. Kentucky is significantly better off without him.

A lot of people said the same thing about Rick Barnes who only won 2 tournament games in his final 6 years at Texas and he’s now turned Tennessee into a really solid contender in the conference.

I would love for LSU to have the buy in and balls to go get a known successful coach like that.

I agree his last 5 years are underwhelming. It’s why I said I agree he is overrated.

But to outright say he is a bad coach is insane. He’s had struggles as of late, but the man knows how to coach. Losing in March doesn’t necessarily mean you did a bad job.

Hell Kentucky was trending way up towards the end of the season. shite happens in the tournament. Izzo lost to MTSU. Purdue lost in the first round last year and made it to the title game this year.

Again, I don’t think he’s currently as good as what he was considered in years past. But he will absolutely bring talent to Arkansas and they will be a very difficult team for LSU as long as he is there.

Cal and Will Wade have the same exact tournament track record since 2020 (two round of 64 exits, one round of 32 exit). Y’all are lucky that your AD isn’t as dumb and delusional as most of the people on here who worship him as a god, he was cheating his arse off here and had all the talent in the world and still couldn’t get over the mediocre hump.

While I agree with you, we now have nil so I dont see the cheating part being a factor.

I see cal being a placeholder for the next coach. While im not expecting championships, coach cal sits at 813 wins. Needs 66 wins to tie Dean smith. Needs 121 wins to make it into the top 10 wins by a d1 coach. I expect we will have media watch.

And what possible sanctions are Arkansas recruiting under. You people with your highly selective memory are miserable, hateful wastes of skin.
