college kids are no longer amateurs and become professionals once they started getting paid
once the NCAA allows paying college kids the only rules should be 5 to play 5
once colleges start paying players you can pay who you want as long as its 5 yrs to play 5 seasons
NCAA is very selective in what rules they want to enforce

Could not agree more. But it is not a popular view here. When I expressed it, I got threats to report me to the admins. I’m just coming off a long ban, so I shut up about it.
Enough whining . . . .
I can’t tell who is advising LSU. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

He’s intentionally not addressing what is different

Now the judge orders that no one can be kicked off a team to make room for these players, regardless of what the NCAA says about the number of players allowed.

If that’s really the best arguement they’ve got, it’s not going to end well for the SEC

Sankey: "Each roster spot filled by a former
pro athlete is a roster spot that becomes unavailable to a high school student-athlete or
another less-developed athlete who would benefit from the educational & athletic growth
opportunities uniquely available thru college sports."
You should have thought about that before you allowed our beloved sport to become so commercialized and dependent on ridiculous TV deals, media rights, conference realignment, sponsorships, and making student athletes well-paid mercenaries. It's just a business now - and a big one.

Oh the horror of allowing “ pros” who got 25k and bunk bed for a month to “ take the spot” of an imaginary “ amateur “ recruit who would make 500k in NIL money at LSU.
There is no compelling argument about college and amateurism to be made in 2026. Sankey makes 4.5 million a year. He didn’t get that salary by building a league of amateurs . The phony moral preening is nauseating. It’s like Hugh Hefner writing a brief for protecting the innocence of girls. It’s just phony on its face.

I wish Lindsay Clancy was Greg Sankey’s mom

I don't understand why they keep lying in a public forum. ESPN, On3, and Yahoo I at least understand that the purpose is to get clicks. It's disgusting, but it makes sense.
Sankey saying that "Each roster spot filled....becomes unavailable to a high school student" is disingenuous at best and lying at worst.
No high schooler is signing this late in the process. No one on LSU's roster is losing their spot because of the recent additions.
Also, who and how can you determine who/what is a "less-developed athlete"? Wright and Harris can't argue that they would develop more as a result of playing their 5th year (something the NCAA now allows)? Why don't they get the educational and athletic growth opportunities afforded to every other college athlete?
I wish so badly I was preparing for this hearing myself. Sankey is a retard.

that is clearly not true as LSU doesn't have a full roster right now.

It’s all about the pecker he sucked.

If that's all Sankey has to argue, he's gonna get shredded. If he loses, like I expect, I hop he doesn't ssk for a stay like happened in the federal court in CO. A stay would put all of this on the back burner until well after completion of the season.

The SEC's argument is really ridiculous. The same logic that they are applying currently will still exist next year. You will still have 5th year seniors taking away scholarships from incoming freshmen. The only difference is the rule was changed two months after the current class had to declare.
