I’m convinced the success or failure of this season comes down to safety play. It’ll be interesting to see if we take one in the portal.
On the plus side, last year’s team managed to win 9 games with Gilbert and Ryan back there, plus Burns at the beginning of the year. Tough to get worse than that group.

It’s mid 40s right now. Not the most fun to hit in.
Jones, Milam, Braswell, Larson all did it last year.
Stanfield has plenty of SEC experience.
Dickinson and Curiel look the part.

1. Left Cincy in the middle of the night during their best season ever to take the ND job. Apparently didn’t tell the players or coaches bye. Just left.
2. Got a student assistant killed at ND by putting him high on a scissor lift to film practice during bad weather and the guy fell off the lift.
3. Comes off as a smug yankee prick at times.
I think he was the right hire at the time for us. The program needed stability and accountability after O. He definitely provides that.

We’ve been woefully unprepared to play each of the last 3 openers. I don’t expect that to change in 2025. Just pay the $10mil and accept it.

The destruction of cfb via portal/NIL destroyed depth and this is the result. Mid 2000s-2019 teams would wreck teams today.
