I’m not sold on Leavitt getting better. First half he looked like a deer in the headlights. He’s off target on way too many throws. Yeah, he can escape and make plays with his legs, but he runs like he thinks he’s a linebacker. He leaves his body wide open to some serious shots. Keep running like that in the SEC and eventually somebody is going to make him pay. I’d be surprised if he makes it through the season without getting banged up.

The emotional folks on here forget he is coming off a serious injury and is playing with a completely new offensive line, new offensive scheme, and new skill players. As they develop chemistry he will get better

A very serious injury. I had a lisfranc fracture that required surgery and 6 months of keeping off my foot, like Leavitt did. I'm surprised that it wasn't career ending. My foot still bothers me at times 3.5 years later. He's a very tough young man to play through that.

I agree that he just needs to get comfortable with a new program and learn to trust his new team mates and he will get better. Some people are too up in their feels right now.

At this point Leavitt is who he is! He will make some big plays because he's out there playing backyard football just running around slinging it. The problem comes when he's facing good disciplined defense with guys who are as athletic as him if not more! That's when he gets happy feet, doesn't set his feet to throw & ends up making costly mistakes! I am very anxious to see the back up get some reps when we get in some games where we get a big lead to see what we have behind him!

We ran for 172 yards last night vs a good front and a 5-8 man box.

Louisville rushed for 162 and Charolette rushed for 143.

Ole miss has not been good at all vs the run.

I’m sure he will. Otherwise he will be benched.

I’d like to find out if his history would reflect on batted down passes at the line of scrimmage. If I were him, I would ask Drew Brees to give him a clinic on how to get a pass off without getting it batted down. I don’t recall seeing as many batted passes by a quarterback for LSU, or anyone else.
