So does he not want the LSU head football coach to be doing everything within the established Aug 2026 rules to construct the best team/players to win? And if we didn't sign any of these players coming back, who legally were granted their 5th year.because of.the f*ckery of the NCAA not to inform any of them prior to them declaring for the draft, wouldn't every single 1 of these whiny b*these be calling for Lanes head for letting the competitors sign these guys without making any attempts to get them here?
IMHO in no particular order it's
Michigan
USC
Notre Dame
LSU
Penn St

*Honorable mentions*
Wisconsin
Florida
Texas
UCLA
Syracuse
Florida St
BYU
Ohio St
Ole Miss
I would wager that it was Brian Kelly who made this promise to Daniels! And we know it was Kelly's staff that made the promise to Pickett. So IMHO Lane has no duty to uphold a promise to a player he didn't coach & has no ties to. What Lane does have is a responsibility to try and retain a player like Pickett from hitting the portal & keep him on the roster to help his team win now. So give him the #5 I'm completely fine with it. Regardless of how Daniels feels about it the #5 isn't retired by the school, as of yet. And he comes off as a entitled self indulgent player doing this publicly. Moving forward there does need to be established guidelines about numbers being retired & what is required for such. To me, even though he won the Heisman, I believe that a player would need to come here from highschool and play his entire career here in addition to his play on the field to have your number retired. Yes that means I wouldn't retire Burrows #9 either. You only have 99 numbers to give out. And even though I think Burrow is worthy if you do his, you have to do Daniels too. But I don't think mercenaries who come in get paid and ball out for 1 or 2 years should have a jersey retired. I say that because it's a slippery slope and you end up with entitled players demanding this shite! But it is what it is & that's why the decision makers are paid so damn well....To make decions about shite like this! And that ain't me!

Also DJ is no JD5 at this point either.

Maybe not but what DJ is that Daniels isn't is a player on the roster who can help a 1st year coach win! Whatever handshake understanding Daniels had with Brian Kelly and his staff went right out the window when Kelly was fired! Lane didn't coach him & has no ties to Daniels. He does however have a responsibility to DJ & the program to try and keep that kid happy and out of the portal locked in ready to play! If that means giving him a jersey number that isn't officially retired then so be it! There are only 99 numbers available for use without any numbers retired! For a roster of how many every year???? If you retired every number for players who won national awards you would have 5 players wearing the same number or some shite! So frick what Jayden Daniels is talking about!

With the Exception of Ryan Clark

Is anyone shocked that race baiting grifting piece of shite Ryan Clark would have a bad take on this? His take on this is a demonstration of exactly why his dumb arse got fired from ESPN.

This is so out of nowhere and random and out of character.

It's actually very on brand if you've paid attention! There was a reason that the players at ASU had that video of them cleaning out his locker when he transferred out of there. Pretty sure it had to do with the me me me entitlement shite we're seeing here. Honestly we're just fortunate it didn't rear it's head while he was playing here that we know of. But there was alot of talk about him & his family/reps (mom) causing issues at ASU before he got here.

Whether an LSU fan or not! College baseball as we know it today was built by Skip! We lost a titan of the sport last night. He single handedly gave administrations across D1 the blueprint of how to build & maintain a fully self sufficient college baseball program. And established a program of excellence here at LSU that will forever be his legacy! Thank you coach for all you did for the LSU Tigers! You will be missed but you will be remembered for eternity here on the bayou! Rest in Peace God rest your soul!

By far the best thing I saw today! These dudes had me cracking up. Landry was such a beast on the field. He doesn't get enough love these days so it was good to see him get brought up!

Wish the season would hurry the frick up and get here

Second!
I'm gonna say over 890yds rec and double digit TDs! On the strength of the play calling
Well we're going from head scratching play calling to elite level offensive play calling so i'm gonna say immensely!
Lanes daddy was a defensive guru that crafted a defense that won a superbowl and was copied thru out the NFL! The Tampa 2 was developed by Monte Kiffin after multiple decades of coaching in the NFL against every iteration of offense you can think of! So this DC had to think of a defense that could get him the best chance against any offense that maybe called against it. So he thought thru everything an offense could potentially call & came up with that storied defense. So how could Lane not have an encyclopedia of variations of offensive play calls!
There are not, never been, never will be a #14, 15, or 16 ranked team that would be or deserve to be competing for National Title! 8 teams to me was the most it should've been! Sure there could've arguably been a team or 2 that got left out, but if you miss out it's because of your record and on field play. If you're arguing about a team or 2 who missed the playoff, then I think that's a good healthy place to be for the sport! At 12 or 16 teams you're diluting the field and undeserving teams are in the mix!
On the strength of this alone I would humbly like to request Josh Pate as NCAA FBS college football commissioner!
I haven't really heard anyone credit Lane for his "development" all I've heard from folks is he found a diamond in the rough & his & Charlie Weiss Jr's play calling helped elevate Chambliss to elite status! So like the combination of Chambliss' abilities paired with that offense and the play calling!

re: Leavitt vs Burrow

I just hope that Leavitt comes in and makes the right reads and allows all the freak athletes to make plays! We don't need him to come in and try and do too much. He had to be that guy at Arizona St because all he had was Jordan Tyson really & that's not the case here!
LSU's Jacob Hester 2007 4th down run against Florida is the first that came to mind! But in all honesty the player that comes to mind as a guy who won games.......Honey Badger Tyrann Matheiu! I don't think ppl understand truly how much of a game wrecking play maker he actually was at LSU! He was lightening in a bottle once in a generation player on the field at LSU!
Look I live in Baton Rouge and that swamp arse is serious bidness round here! I can't knock him, we've all been there, August/September 80% humidity with a feel like temp of 108! Brutal!
