He’s an undraftable player. Hitchy throwing motion. And cannot read progressions. Lane/charlie calls his audibles. I don’t even think the Jets would
Make a pass.

I see Sam as more of a pro style player than most of those names. I hope he returns to Baton Rouge though to bury so many critics.

In no order who i think would be drafted before him

Manning (the name and skillset only)
Chambliss
Carr
Mestemaker
Mensah

Right now?

Two probably would, Mestemaker & Mensah, Chamblis and Sayin are maybe. Carr and Arch are questionable at best; more likely to go after Leavitt. All of that will depend on the rest of the season.

Odds are Arch comes back and probably Carr and Leavitt unless he has a stellar rest of the season, which is not out of the realm of possibilities. Mestermaker and Mensah have been pretty steady; Sam is trending up, the rest are either trending down or have been uneven all season.

Current stats ranked by total yards

Drew Mestemaker - Ranked #2, 65.7%, 2326 yards(332.3 ypg), 20 TDs, 6 INTs

Sam Leavitt - Ranked #6, 70.3%, 2173 yards(271.6 ypg), 17 TDs, 8 INTs

Darian Mensah - Ranked #9, 81.4%, 2151 yards(307.3 ypg), 22 TDs, 1 INTs

Julian Sayin - Ranked #17, 68.2%, 2007 yards(286.7 ypg), 19 TDs, 4 INTs

Trinidad Chambliss - Ranked #21, 63.7%, 1926 yards(275.1 ypg), 16 TDs, 7 INTs

CJ Carr - Ranked #35, 66.8%, 1639 yards(234.1 ypg), 16 TDs, 1 INTs

Arch Manning - Ranked #59, 63.3%, 1507 yards(215.3 ypg), 12 TDs, 7 INTs

Lane/charlie calls his audibles.

A lot of, if not most, college OCs do this for their QBs. Hell, the Saints’ HC calls the audibles for their QB Shough in his 2nd season still. He went in the 2nd round. And he’s 27 and played a ton of college football. I’m sure he’s capable, but some play callers still prefer to do it. I think it’s ridiculous on the NFL level, but I doubt the Saints are the only team that does this.

And I know LSU isn’t the only team in college that does. And Lane/Weis don’t do it because of the capabilities or incapabilities of their QBs. It’s part of their system since they can talk to the QB until 15 seconds on the clock. They do it for Sam just like they did for Chambliss and all the other QBs that came before them. They would do it no matter who they had out there.

Perhaps you’d be interested in a ban bet. Sam doesn’t get drafted, I will never post on this site again. If he does, you will do the same. Deal

Prior to the last couple weeks, all the scuttlebutt was Leavitt plans to return for next year, now that is up in the air some I think, but impossible to know until we know how he plays the next month+ and where he ultimately falls on draft boards compared to other QBs that declare and are eligible.

All that to say, nobody knows at this point heavily 1 way or the other. When he was on with Moscana this week he certainly didnt tip his hat 1 way or the other which tells me he's at least listening to the pro projections at this point which are heating up.

I have been seeing a lot of stuff suggesting that Arch will be coming back and that he will be transferring out of Texas. Will be curious to see how the rest of the season plays out and see which players enter the draft, the portal, or return to their team....man College Sports is so weird right now.

You mean Kentucky? Will Stein would be great for Arch's development.

Good: the likely has a really strong NIL offer to play next year($4-6mil?) $$$

Bad: He is improving with every snap, and there have been no ill effects of his injury, and the QB class is meh.
