Dinardo actually made us relevant again, especially getting Kevin Faulk. He brought the magic back to TS, and made going there fun again. Unfortunately, he couldn't getbthe right coordinators, and a good QB. Saban took it to another level, and was a far better coach who could get guys ready for the NFL.

Saban is responsible for the greatness of LSU over the last 25 years. We owe him a lot.

But of course some delusional idiots act like Mark Emmert and Gerry Dinardo are responsible for it though.
DiNardo showed the potential of LSU after three terrible HCs, but he's not responsible for the greatness of LSU over the last 25 years.

Saban was a terrific coach for LSU. He coached LSU to its first National Championship in 45 years. But Saban was merely part of the Emmert plan.

Mark Emmert is responsible for planning and obtaining the funding for the foundation for the greatness of LSU over the last 25 years. Emmert is also responsible for Saban coming to LSU. You've seen the videos, and you've read the facts.

I'm sorry the facts upset you.

LSU made Nick and he capitalized on it. LSU was always a premier program except in the late 90s. Again, LSU was the a launching pad for Nick.

What was he supposed to do?

Go to any other of the 100+ Div 1-A schools EXCEPT Alabama. He was here 5 years. He knew the deal.

Certainly not responsible but they have a role in having fixed LSU. Emmert of course famously told Joe Dean to quit fricking around with money and wanting to low ball Saban. Dinardo getting Faulk to stay home along with others made it cool for hometown recruits to stay home or atleast look at staying home again. But of course Saban was the one that slapped LSU in the face with brutal truth. He introductory press conference he said. You think you are champions but the truth is you haven't won the SEC outright in 30 years. He made people behind the scenes realize how screwed up LSU was. He got everyone on the same page and didn't allow anyone to interfere with the team. That had traditionally bee LSU's biggest issue, too many cooks in the kitchen.

No. Emmert got lucky and hired the greatest of all time college football coach who built LSU into a juggernaut and won the program’s first national championship in 45 years. Saban built the program up so much that his success has lasted two decades into the future.

This is like when people try to say that Tom Brady was just part of the Buccaneers’ plan to win a Super Bowl, and they pretend that Brady wasn’t the straw that stirred the drink.

No, Tom Brady was indeed the reason the Bucs won the Super Bowl. It’s not just a coincidence that he showed up and they won the Super Bowl in Year 1 after not even making the playoffs in the 12 seasons prior to that.

You're certainly entitled to your own opinion.

But you're not entitled to your own facts.

The facts have been posted here repeatedly. Those facts include the details about Emmert's plans for LSU, the facts about Emmert's investment plans for the LSU football program, the details of the specific buildings constructed by Emmert's plans, and the circumstances surrounding Saban's hiring.

Damn, you're dumb.

Emmert did NOT get lucky. He specifically selected Saban to be the head coach of one of the biggest fundraising engines for Emmert's plans. Emmert recognized what the LSU football program could be with the proper investment. Like the Chairman of the Board of any good corporation, he knew he need a good CEO for the football program.

Emmert made Saban one of the three highest paid coaches in the entire country when he hired him to run the LSU football program. That's not luck. That's a carefully made investment, and it was just one of the many investments Emmert spearheaded to make the LSU football prgram into the hehemoth it is today.

There are no facts that can prove that Emmert was the main cause of the LSU resurgence and not Nick Saban. It’s all a matter of opinion.

There’s no way Emmert could have possibly known just how elite of a coach Saban would become. He got lucky with the hire, and it changed the course of LSU football history. Saban was the main catalyst and nothing else would have worked without him.

That was the first thing I thought about when I saw the pics in OP.. I was wondering whether there were some subtle photoshop shenanigans from the LSU media team. That picture you posted seems to confirm it.

I approve.

That’s putting the chicken before the egg. Without Emmert Saban doesn’t get hired so you could say Emmert was the main catalyst and Saban would’ve never been here without him.
