Ruffino, grain of salt, thinks Lamar Brown is at Edge mainly for depth purposes.

But his natural position is going to be in the interior. I always thought he was an interior guy myself—he’s just got such a different body type than Prince and Ross. Which could give Baker some versatility in different packages.
Also said Jaidan Braker was moved from off ball LB today to edge, and that his move and playing Brown at his “not best position, but position he can certainly play,” both suggest the staff’s initial concern with edge depth. (He didn’t say it, or hasn’t yet, but that Reliford injury was way worse than we’ve told ourselves. His versatility in the run and rush game would have been extremely beneficial. Oh well. Next man up. Looks like today it was Braker.(

I'd like to see him get a chance there... whatever gets the top recruit in the country on the field. I think I saw his latest weight was 295 lbs.
He should be in the 2 deep with Reliford out

I think Brown is a natural DT. Not a lot of 295 lb DE in college football.

To me, this is comparable to Fournette playing LB instead of RB.
The crazy thing about this is I wouldn't be surprised if Brown is the 3rd best OL on the team right now, behind Seaton and Moore.

Devin White could have played running back but ended up playing linebacker.

He would be perfect size defensive end in a 3-4 defensive alignment. I know Blake doesn’t use that much, but he could be used in certain situations and probably defensive tackle as well. Lamar is versatile.

I think it’s simple… Braiker is 6’3 230 and too good of athlete not to play some this year. Same with Lamar
The staff also played Delane, Thomas, and Jimcoily today with the 1’s. Good to get young guys those reps

Dylan Carpenter seemed to have a good first few days as well. Don’t be shocked if he works him way into the rotation

What has he been doing?

I mean he tore his acl or Achilles, can’t remember which. But it has been known since spring that he wouldn’t play this year

We have Lou Spano, Sterling Lucas, Peoples and Ed O coaching that front 4… not necessarily concerned as some

He’s too small & can’t bend. If he has to play they’re in trouble

He could be used in the interior also on third and long

I love Brown at edge, get your best 11 on the field where you can.
