Maybe an unpopular opinion but I think both Geralds and Rich Anderson will have better LSU careers than Brown. Not to say Brown won't be good but he has never specialized as a DL before so it might take a little time for him get the technique down. I also think LSU has a strong tradition of bringng in multiple guys at a position and the "second" player at the spot per rankings outshines the top ranked guy. The top guys do end up being good, the second guys just turn out to be great.

A Few Examples:

1) Jeremy Hill over Hillliard
2) Delpit over Stevens
3) Malik over BTJ
4) Eric Reid over Loston
5) Greedy over Saivion Smith

Dylan Carpenter seemed to have a good first few days as well. Don’t be shocked if he works him way into the rotation

He’s solid and should be good against the run. He’s just not an elite pass rusher.

If we are in the hunt for the playoff then sure maybe he makes his way back this year. But idk if its worth it, there is so much more than just having your knee physically ready. Being in game shape is a real thing and I'm not sure him coming back this year is the best thing. But again if we are looking like a playoff team then sure it can only help to have another player to throw out there to keep the players fresh.

To my understanding, the rotation has been

1's: Princewill Umanmielen & Jordan Ross
2's: Dylan Carpenter & Lamar Brown
3's: Jaylen Brown & Kolaj Cobbins
4's: Jaiden Braker & ? Would've thought going into this week that it would be Damien Shanklin & Trenton Henderson but haven't heard anything about them. Very well could be rotating here but I've not seen or heard anything on it.

Really missing Reliford here as an early down edge that can rush from the inside on pass downs. I think Lamar Brown will end up filling that role but just feel more confident in Reliford due to strength and experience.
