What’s next? Name Frank Wilson Head Coach since you’ve only been on the job for 32 hours now?

Im just trying to guess here… but what I maybe think he was trying to say is “yeah, to me this is common sense. Verge is our AD until he’s not. Interim/Permanent are irrelevant/unnecessary terms to me… He’s our AD until he’s not.”

Devil's advocate: since he inherited this and what the BOS people stated Friday, he's confirming removing Verge's interim tag but not tying himself to Verge too closely in case Verge fricks this up. Would it have negatively mattered had he just lied at the behest of the BOS to portray our situation in the best light for all the prospective coaches out there? Probably not but he said this 1) because it's true and 2) to cover his behind in case Verge doesn't work out, people work in their own self-interest.

We continually make it harder for us to find an elite HC at a time when the market is not exactly swimming with them.
Landry has already created an environment where a top HC candidate has to worry about who all his "bosses" really are and how politics might create complications for him. And as important as money is, the top coaches want to know they have a great AD to work for directly, and one with good business acumen and huge fundraising ability. Verge ain' t that guy.
Of course, it doesn't matter if Landry is just gonna hire Frank and go cheap.

He has been there since 2019. He should’ve never made a short list much less be hired.

No shot he would be on the short list for any major research one institution other one in a state run by Jeff Landry.

You guys understand why I’m betting on the Tulane coach now? Look at this shite

Consider yourself lucky if you end up with Sumrall. You’re likely to end up with Wilson or a lot worse.

He's pretty much confirming what we already know. He was told to do this and it was set into motion already. Just shows you how incompetent that admin really is.

Exactly, this has been in the making since JL was elected according to my McNeese friends. He was appointed by JL and for JL.

Is mcneese enrollment around 6500 and no PhD programs

For reference
“ Allen, Texas, has over 6,000 students, with recent reports listing its enrollment at nearly 7,000 students”

To be clear this is a Texas HIGH school..

There were people on this board who thought Landry's involvement last week was totally fine and not a flashing red warning sign of the absolute joke LSU is about to become.

What a fricking clown show

Remove the interim label but not sure if he’s the real AD or not.

No football coach worth a damn is going to want this gig with all the glaring red flags the school and state are showing the world.
