Referendum on LSU and our place in the SEC

Just my two cents; but it really seems to be the only explanation:
1. SEC was happy with Woodward and us being Mediocre in FB. SW was a team player. They are not happy with the new direction.
2. The new regime at LSU has not taken back-channel recommendations from Sankey and the SEC's preferences. When it seems that the old leadership was aligned with the SEC.
3. We swapped Woodward for Verge who was involved in the TitleIX scandal. That is a bad look.
4. We brought in Lane and how it was handled. Coaches moving in conference is not looked on favorably in the SEC.
5. We rehired Wade. The SEC did not want him back in the conference.
6. New LSU President isn't on the same page as many of the other leaders of the Universities in the SEC.
It seems to me that the new people in charge of LSU are making changes and it looks like those changes don't fit many of the SEC's preferences. This is a political move, nothing more. LSU was probably given recommendations, and we didn't take them into account.
Sankey may be taking some of this personal, but he is definitely doing what the majority of the President's want. Why else would the pushback be so hard, when other schools have done the exact same thing and are actively trying to sign the same players. Why this issue, why now?
They are trying to reign in LSU by going after the cash cow. They are trying to establish our pecking order in the conference. The SEC being unhappy with the changes at LSU is the only explanation. They were perfectly content with the prior regime. We start making changes and this escalates to a crazy level, when LSU hasn't broken any rules. This bigger than football. This is a political power play.

LSU hired Kif, who was supposed to be Saban's successor at Bama. So they let Kif go to OM where he can't do much harm. THEN Kif and LSU have the audacity to get together and try to upset the SEC Pecking Order Apple Cart.
LSU must be punished for daring to piss off OM, Bama, Tenn and Sankey.
SEC will seek to penalize LSU football and ruin this season.

Hard Agree, this entire bullshite has to do more with what is publicly not disclosed between the SEC and LSU way before the pro player bullshite. You think the SEC don't know other darling members of the conference have been doing the same shite ? Shieeeeeet

It is definitely about power and control.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the vote tomorrow fails, but LSU is told in no uncertain terms that if we call a vote again, you won’t be so lucky next time.

I’d almost guarantee Ole Miss is the only vote of yes. Hopefully it’s made public, as if the program and team needs more motivation.

Funny thing is what if LSU announces they are leaving the SEC? The SEC would likely try to block them from leaving, Go figure. If LSU did, in fact, bolt from SEC methinks the floodgates would open with other teams jumping from conferences. New era; conference ties may actually hinder playoff chances.

The SEC doesn't like our state government calling the shots about what happens at LSU. THEY want to determine what happens at LSU.
They want to treat Kiffin like a de facto employee. Kiffin reports to LSU, not the SEC.
SEC needs to be checked here. Kiffin can say whatever the frick he wants as long as LSU is ok with it. And it shouldn't matter if the SEC is ok with it or not.

I made a post about this yesterday. Sankey and some other SEC Presidents want LSU to keep its seat at the kids table. They want to keep LSU in its place and levy punishments that throttle the football program.

I agree with this.
The SEC will impose penalties that will wreck this LSU football season tomorrow, IMHO. This is now a personal vendetta to keep LSU in its place: a mid-tier SEC team.

They are scared of LSU and especially Kiffin and the potential reign they may have in college football. There’s a lot of brass that doesn’t want to see that happen, especially the likes of Texas, aTm, Bama and Georgia.

Maybe, maybe not. If everyone hates LSU like some suggest (sometimes me), then LSU as an independent playing cupcakes would be just the thing to make the CFP decide to apply a strength-of-resume parameter to the criteria for admittance.
