Anybody that thinks anything differently is either not playing with a full deck and/or living in P&G "Sunshine, Lollipops, Rainbows & Unicorns" fantasy land.............

Baseball players at this level largely don’t need “coaching”. It’s on them to not be retards.

But it’s on the coaching staff to not have a team full of retards

Without being at practices and team meetings and one-on-one instruction, you have no basis to say he has done a shitty job except in the area of transfer portal/player retention. And he has already admitted that. When players don't perform but have had every opportunity to grow into successful outcomes, it's on them.

The coaching sucks this year and is directly tied to double digit losses.

I believe it can get better, but this year is what it is.

It was a veritable pitching orgy today. Lachenmeyer was stellar, but he didn't even pitch two innings. Santiago is sometimes good but he's been wild lately. Rizy is just straight up arse. Shockingly Sheerin was terrible in his two batter stint. Plog, terrible. Am I missing someone?

There's plenty of blame to go around for all of them. Coaches are not immune here.

Is it wrong to think that LSU, the national champion, would have a jump start or better odds on getting the best players out of the portal? Is it wrong to think that the best players on teams that they know will never win anything significant would want to play for a program that is considered the best in America year in and year out, playing before the most ardent, supportive fan base in America?
With that as a background, if you agree, how in the world can LSU come up with the worst portal additons in all of college baseball?
Does it make any sense to anyone?
Why doesn't LSU capitalize on the 2 nattys in the last 3 years and convince at least some of the top players in America to come win another one?
It makes no sense to me, and why what our staff brought in is just a complete bust in identifying talent in the portal.
That is what makes this season so difficult for us to comprehend imo.
LSU's stature in the game should guarantee that LSU will never put a product on the field like we watched this season.
Something is badly wrong. I'll let you decide what you think that is, but to think everything is alright is just burying your head in the sand.

Ultimately it is his fault and his job to correct it. It is called "Taking Ownership". You should look it up people have written whole books about it.

the roster is so flawed, I don't think the coaching is anything different in game wise then what he's done in the past

but he built this roster so it's on him.

Blaming the transfer portal is a bullshite excuse.

Yep...so a kid from the portal forgot how to play basic defense in baseball, or throw a strike? Does this portal have mysterious powers that strip them of their abilities to property field ground balls and find the strike zone?

And who evaluated the talent in the transfer portal and brought that talent (or lack thereof) to LSU?

if you guys honestly think that 14 SEC schools have more talent on their roster than we do, I don’t know what to tell you.

They don' but we arent in the Top 5 in SEC talent this year, at least not at this point in the season. Before the season started, I would have said yes to top 5.
But we have veterans who should be unshakeable and be able to deliver in high leverage situations who are soiling themselves and even making very foolish mistake like walking lead-off batters when you have a lead, throwing wild pitches, and striking out/weakly popping out with RISP in crucial situations. Got to be clutch. That is the difference between this years team and previous ones who had great success
