I think JD gives LSU the best chance to win and I said the same last season. He still needs to be more consistent and trust his teammates to make plays. I expect Kelly, Dembrock and Sloan have beat that drum all offseason.

He can make game changing plays with his feet and isn't a bad passer at all.

He made great plays late vs Bama that won the game and played outstanding vs Ole Miss and UF. He actually brought LSU back against FSU and ST lost the game. That being said he played awful vs Auburn and LSU loses if they don't get 4 turnovers. Vs Arkansas he struggled and if KJ plays for the hawgs we likely lose. In the A&M game the score is tied and LSU has a chance to go ahead and instead of giving the ball to Emery on a 3rd and 1 with a lane to make the yardage, JD pulls the ball out and gets tackled and gives up a fumble TD. Emery was averaging over 6 ypc and had 3 TDs that game. LSU never recovered and lost the game.

JD can have an outstanding season if he trusts his arm, trusts his WRs and trusts his other playmakers. If he does this he'll be considered one of LSU's best QBs.

I disagree. JD already has showed to be good at this level. Walker has done nothing to make me feel any way. Guys like him with “no chest” don’t usually pan out.

No Chest? You forgetting about Joe Burrow?
The season hasn't started and the Rainbows are being painted.

You better wait until the season is over before you start daydreaming and awarding trophies.

Daniel’s is a good QB, not a great one. That’s based on last years results. He won’t be able to win games with his feet alone. Last year was proof of that. The concerns are real and the media gushing over him doesn’t change those facts. He’s been this way since his Freshman year. Hopefully that changes this year but the concerns are still there. Can he stand in the pocket, feeling the pressure, and deliver the ball to the open receivers downfield? Only time will tell.

It's great that JD came back, and nobody should hate on Howard for going to Ole Miss. Howard's dad is a really good person. Out of respect for his dad people here need to temper the hate

LSU fan talking shite to other LSU fans before a snap has even been taken this season. Classic TD at its finest.

I understand why Howard left. It made sense for him. But choosing Ole Miss made zero sense. It’s putting himself into the same situation and now he is fricked there

Howard is another one of those guys that fans seem to latch onto for reasons that have nothing to do with performance. He’s like that tight end/wide receiver, who transferred out without ever making a difference in any game. Except when he fumbled. Folks on here acted as if it were some kind of real loss or actual setback. It was addition by subtraction. We were better when he was off the field.
Walker Howard never did a thing to make us wish he were still here. What little he played, he was unremarkable in every way.
Whether he will do something at Ole Miss remains to be seen. As for now? He’s no loss.

I think the implication is that it will mess with the QB continuity timeline. I don't think most anyone though Howard was the answer this year or next.

So pumping up JD for this year is a moot point.

JD has clear flaws. They surfaced again late in season against Arkansas. His backup performed better than him in SEC championship game.
I guess you forgot he had the flu during the Arkansas game and coming back from injury in the SEC championship game.

But it’s not. Sure he will be in the same situation in 2023 but the transfer QB at Ole Miss only has this year to play. That kind of tells me Kiffin doesn’t really want to start Dart so going into 2024 Howard will be competing for the job.

At LSU you have Jayden for this year and all Indications from the LSU coaching staff is Nuss will be the guy in 2024.

Howard felt he had a better chance to play at Ole Miss in 2024 than at LSU. That’s why he transferred there.

I thought it was great for JD to come back and I was sorry to see Walker leave but that was his choice. I expect with an offseason under his belt and the coaching he will receive that JD will be a much better QB this year and that is all we really need to have a shot at a championship. Also takes the pressure off of Nuss and he gets another year to hone his skills and if for some reason JD doesn't take the next step Nuss will get his chances. Either way we are in a good spot. Anyone complaining about JD coming back does not understand football.

Howard may end up being very solid. Idk. He basically transferred to the same situation once Kiffin went and got Spencer sanders. Word is, Howard has done nothing to unseat Dart or sanders.

I wanted JD5 to come back and let Nuss and Howard battle it out in spring 2024.
Funny thing is Howard likely won’t even start at Ole Miss until 2024 and he will still have to battle it out. Why he left boggles my mind.

Skenes didn't transfer because he couldn't get on the field. Burrow did but that was Ohio State's mistake.
