How many of your arguments would change?

If LSU had one loss, I'd be pounding the table that they would get in over Ohio State with two losses, one of which was by 31 points.

It sucks that it's Bama, but let's be real here.

I will never feel a non division winning team should compete for a national championship. Never.

Do you think LSU gets in under the same scenario?

I'm not saying they don't, I'm just wondering if you think it's the same result.

Playoffs became a thing because 2 sec teams were in the championship. They should have changed the seeds to put UGA at 2 and bama at 3.

That's a great question.

I would definitely hope so.

Of course, I would be happy for LSU to go, but it would not change my position that the playoff is just too small at 4 teams to include a team that failed to win its conference.

LSU didn't win their division nor Conf Championship, so no, and no way anyone else in the SEC gets in under these circumstances.

I don’t. I also don’t think we would have gotten in in 2011

I have always pulled for the SEC no matter which team is playing. It's important for all the teams that our conference is represented well. LSU fans for some reason think if they make all other conference teams look bad they somehow gain. A rising tide lifts all boats.

Problem is that LSU would never get the consideration that Alabama gets.

You can take this to the bank: Had it been LSU and Ohio State (or even USC) on the bubble instead of Alabama and Ohio State, the committee would have felt a lot differently about the importance of winning a conference championship. And that would have been the justification for keeping LSU out.

Don't think for 1 second that the committee wasn't thinking a Bama vs Clemson rematch would be gold. But the committee got it right, Ohio St. got waxed by an unranked team.

As for LSU, it would depend on their one loss...Troy, and it's a no go...A close loss to an SEC team and they'd be in over Ohio St.

If lsu would have spent just about all year atop the polls then yes they get in easy. I don’t think their decision was hard at all

Or it causes all of the SEC teams to fire their head coach because they try to keep up with one team which ends up causing a noncompetitive SEC

Hypotheticals are pointless. No two situations are every likely to be the same. Any close call will go alabamas way. They bring in ratings, whether for or against them.

There's a difference between saying a team that doesn't at least win its division shouldn't get into the playoffs, and saying a team that does win its division or conference should always get in, no matter what the record. Two different things.
