The committee is saying by this decision that conference champions mean nothing which is absurd.

LSU would have dropped further after the loss to AU.

Doubt we get in over OSU

Putting a 2 loss team is even more egregious

You want to put a team in that Iowa took to the woodshed and lost a 2nd game

And not the 1 loss team that was #1 in the nation for 13 weeks that lost to a top 10 team

Clown take

How many of your arguments would change?

I see your point. Some Tiger fans would be upset in that scenario. But as far as I'm concerned, if a team doesn't at least play for their conference championship, they should be on the outside looking in.

Bama's gotten the benefit of the doubt twice now, without even winning the Western Division of their Conference. To me, that's bullshite. And I realize how good of a program Bama has.

You also should realize that there are loads of posters that claim to be LSU fans that piss all over the 2007 championship because that team lost two regular season games. But at least we won the Western Division and won the Conference Championship to get the chance to play for a Nation Championship.

Alabama should be in imho.
If it were LSU, we would have been left out
In 2011, it it’s 9-6 the gumps, we are left out.
There is a bias and we would have been out.

There isn't a team in the NCAA ranked 5th to 25th who is better than Alabama so I have no issues with it.

The last decade of their play speaks for itself.

I would be happy that LSU got in but I wouldn't be able to say I agreed with it.

LNCHBOX I will never feel a non division winning team should compete for a national championship. Never.
What if they won their division and were 9-3 [/quote]
If they are one of the four best teams in the country then said team should be in playoffs.

I'm just happy we're now upset over leaving out #5 instead of #3. That was the plan. Also go Clemson.

So if Bama is one of the four best teams why werent they ranked 4 all along? Why put them at 5

I said it before and I'll say it again.

Wisc got penalized for playing a conf champ game.
Bama benefited from sitting at the house.

For that reason alone this is BS.

They also got penalized for looking really boring when everyone was watching. Kmart arm left and a bunch of slow guys, no thanks. Yes, they can be effective, but nothing you saw indicated they were one of the best 4 teams, not even before Saturday.

What did you see that made you think Bama was one of the 4 best teams? Their 12 point loss that at no point did it look like they stood a chance?

They were penalized for losing. If they win that game, they're in.

(1) If LSU lost to A&M in the final game and was thereby knocked out of the SECW, there's not a snow-ball's chance in hell they'd make it. The selection committee would take UCF before LSU in that scenario.
(2) If LSU lost to A&M in the final game and was thereby knocked out of the SECW, I'm not sure I'd be arguing our case that much.

What was the purpose of going away from the BCS which was still being manipulated by final poll votes? It was supposed to put more emphasis on conference champs in power 5 and even Saban said as much last year before changing his tune. Now everybody is repeating him. If we're going to have standards, we should abide by them.

Any team in the power 5 that has taken care of business and has to play 13 to get in instead of sitting at home while other hash it out is a major flaw. Conference championship game losers deserve a look before some team that didn't put their chances on the line period.
