So winning a playoff game makes him higher than Kelly and all he’s accomplished?

I mean if we are talking about at this point in time or are we talking about 2012?

Why isn’t Sonny Dykes ahead of Kelly?

Sonny Dykes is historically not a good head coach. I don't know why people keep bringing him up.

Why is DeBoer ahead of someone with multiple national championships?

No clue, maybe they think he is better at this point in time. Are you pissed that Mack Brown isn't on this list?

What are the lottery numbers? So did Sonny Dykes. Chris Petersen took Washington to the playoffs too.

Go review Washington’s schedule last year. They had seven games they won by a TD or less. They EASILY could have been 8-4.

I could say the same to you. Since you know he is going to fail.

Plenty of teams could easily be 8-4. Plenty of teams only win games by a td or less. That is the sign of a good team. That is what separates winning and losing.

It's just my opinion that he is a good coach. He could fail. His resume isn't super long like some coaches.

You can really sit there and pick apart any coach. Saban almost lost a few games last yr. Beat auburn on a 4-29

Rolling until they face real competition.

Anyone outside of the SEC does not belong in the top 5.

You realize that Kelly has won 10+ games in his last seven seasons at Notre Dame and LSU, right?

DeBoer has won ten games in only two of his four years as a head coach in D1.

You “LSU” fans simping for Bama and DeBust are pathetic

Did you know that Dabo went 4-3, 9-5, 6-7 his first 3 years as head coach? Did you know that Saban didn't win 10 games until his 8th year as a head coach? Did you know that Urban Meyer also won 10 games in only two of his first four years as a head coach? Also, using DeBoer not winning 10 games in a season in which his team only played 6 total games as part of your argument is kind of hilarious. Acknowledging that there might be other good coaches out there isn't "simping" for Bama.

Okay now do all the coaches who won 10 games in 50% of their seasons as head coach that then went on to fail.

I want you to tell us how you think making the national championship and winning one playoff game outweighs everything Kelly has done his career. Go

Dude it’s just a ranking on who they think is the better coach at this point in time. You are guaranteeing that a guy that has done nothing but win, is going to fail miserably with literally nothing to back up that opinion. Are you upset that Mack Brown isn’t top 5 on this list? He has accomplished more than the majority of people on this list.

Quit crying about some random fricking list and just hope that BK can finally get over the hump and win a national championship.

Like I said all of the guys 3-10 can fluctuate and I expect any of them to pass Swinney up at some point. Guys 3-7 have just had more recent success. I don’t necessarily think any 1 coach is consistently better than the other. Just how I see them in the present. We’ll see how good most of these guys are in the SEC.

Side note: I am very high on Norvell. I think that dude is an outstanding coach.

Sark should be higher

Am I being trolled here?

Prior to Texas paying for his players in 2023, what has Sark really done as a head coach that would have him considered as one of the top 5 or so?

Sark is riding that one win over Saban in Tuscaloosa. Now, all of that can change if Texas lives up to the expectations, this season.

2009 Washington - 5-7
2010 Washington - 7-6
2011 Washington - 7-6
2012 Washington - 7-6
2013 Washington - 8-4
2014 USC - 9-4
2015 USC - 3-2

2021 Texas - 5-7
2022 Texas - 8-5
2023 Texas - 12-2

I never said Norvell isn’t a successful coach, I would suggest he’s not a Top 10 coach in my mind. He’s in the Lanning, Sark etc category of younger but unproven coaches at the championship level. There are a group of those guys

Look at Lincoln Riley’s trajectory. Some of yall would have probably put Tom Herman around the top 10 in 2018.

PROVE IT

This is so simple that it hurts. If Bama didn’t hire DeBust, he wouldn’t be #2 on this list.

Had Bama hired Lanning, Norvell or Sark each one of them would be #2

I actually agree. I also think the reported Bama courting of Norvell likely vaulted his ranking

Honestly these lists are dumb but it’s talking season and it did it job because we’re taking about it

this just a terrible take. I can see why people are against Dabo because of his ego to not use the portal but he’s 54-13 over the last 5 years please name 20 other coaches better yet 10 other coaches with that record over the 5 years.

I don’t understand why everyone’s so high on Lanning. Maybe if this list was top ten coaches based on potential or on the rise.

Lanning hasn’t won a big game. He lost to Washington twice.
