Make Sankey resign. He screwed the pooch literally and figuratively.

Everyone knew this would be coming. SEC should be ordered to pay any and all of LSU's legal expenses and damages since they knowingly forced us to disobey a court order. I hope the damages are astronomical and gets Sankey fired and the count at Tennessee, Ole Miss and wherever else that egged this on get to see it all backfire on them when the conference revenue payouts isn't what they expected at the end of the year. And all just to prevent LSU from having two players that may not have had any significant impact.

I’m going to be honest, I couldn’t care less about this shite anymore.

Details would be nice. I'm curious what arguments they would have prior to September 4 other than the SEC filing the initial suit in federal court (which I don't see how that could be contempt, especially since it's pending and could preempt this state-court ruling).

It should be very easy to prove that the SEC defied a court ruling by coercing LSU into not rostering the two players who wanted to go to LSU.
Perhaps a bigger anti-trust lawsuit can be filed at the federal level later as well since there is no collective-bargaining in place.

Thought LSU wasn’t going to be filed in this lawsuit?

It's nicholastiger, I think his brain chemistry compels him to say stupid stuff.

Just trying to give em the benefit of the doubt and hear what his thought process was in making such a statement.

The contempt isn’t the Federal filing, it’s deliberately interfering with LSU’s ability to roster the players as ordered by the court.
There may be a case to be made that the SEC’s Federal filing is an attempt to circumvent the district court order. Now that there’s a suit for contempt, the Federal court will most likely hold off or dismiss until that process goes forward.

Hence details being nice, specifically this alleged behavior (other than the initial version of the suit filed prior to September 4)

I don't think LSU wants that

But doing what, other than the federal suit? I'm asking legitimately what specific behavior they're alleging (I know you probably don't know; I'm referencing my initial comment about the article leaving out crucial details)

Now you are playing a dangerous game. We want him to talk less, not bless us with more of his "wisdom."

If LSU admits it excluded the players solely under threat of SEC retaliation, LSU becomes the primary witness against Greg Sankey, proving that the SEC actively coerced a state institution to bypass a binding court order.
oh snap
oh snap

Our argument is we were under severe threat from the SEC. They held a gun to our head
This! And LSU has plenty of evidence to thia fact! LSU was threatened with expulsion from the conference, ridiculous fines, suspension of coaches, loss of scholarships, etc so LSU was forced to disregard the courts rulings! So the only 2 parties I see truly at fault & on the hook for contempt of court are Sankey & the conference!

We were forced by the SEC to not roster them. We will easily be ruled exempt from liability. Or we will have grounds to sue the SEC for getting sued.

Coercion via threat of expulsion and new penalties in the rule change including penalizing a school 50% of NIL budget should a team roster a “professional” player.
Keep in mind, the SEC changed the rule and strengthened the penalties AFTER the players filed the lawsuit.
