2 (projected) top 10 picks let see how they play this season, and they play a lower tier of competition in the ACC. It is just a fact, they lost to every SEC opponent they played last season.

They played the comment on my drive home yesterday and what he actually said was 6 to 7 and maybe even 8. But yeah, yeah that seems apart from the norm of how things typically go with O-lines, but we'll see.

I read through 4 pages and finally someone noted this. The quote in the title is misleading.

Doing this against Clemson’s D line will not end well

you mean the D line that ranked 85th in the country last year, against mostly subpar competition?

They have 2 top 10 picks

I always love these quotes....hell I heard they have 6 1st round draft picks....mostly from a defense that finished 85th in the country last year.

These are projections my man. I project that they won't have 2 top 10 pics on Defense, and won't have 6 overall. See how that works. Seriously, have you not followed LSU much? They generally have several projected 1st rounders, but it never seems to pan out that many.

Ehhh. It could be a problem but it could also be a non issue if the younger guys just need a little time to get their feet wet and get used to the speed of the game at the college level.

Clemson at night is not the place you want your o-line "to get their feet wet"

You can look at this positive or negative. The one thing that's absolute and can't be debated here though, is you don't have enough guys who are clearly better than the other. That means they're not separating. That can be viewed as LSU has some true beasts that are even in talent or they're in trouble. Take it as you will. We'll see in the game.

Again context matters. There are ways to help the line out with quick passes, runs, screens, tempo, etc. I just don't think you're going to see a scenario where this becomes a big factor unless they try to call plays long developing pass plays with only 2-3 receivers on routes which I don't see happening.

Not a good idea, throws off the timing of the players. You need one solid group for timing and chemistry and just rotate out when they get winded only. This is not good. Look for IP's and holding calls. Need one solid group that plays together.

correct.

Generally, in any sport, when coaches feel the need to rotate players at a position (not because of wanting to keep them fresh or tactical reasons), it's because no single player has established themselves as good enough to be the man.

This isn't that concerning. They like 8 guys. Every year you have guys that emerge later in the year after getting their opportunities to play. Players grow throughout the year.

So you think it is a good idea to "figure it out" against Clemson on the road?

No big deal? Really?

I've said it before and I'll say it again: BK's "process" has historically largely depended on getting better as the season goes with the guarantee of several warmup games. He has yet to prove he can get out of that mode in game 1. Here he sits with easily the most talented team he's probably ever had, and it kind of sounds like he's doing it again.

Not having your starting 5 OL locked in for a game against a national power in week 1 on the road is a huge fricking problem in my book. Hopefully it is just a smoke screen, but I can't be certain since I'm neither a coach or an analyst. All I know is that most football teams see a notable regression when there isn't continuity on the OL.

I know I don't want to see what he does to a folding table if he loses a game 1 again.

When Chip Kelly ran the ball down our throat at UCLA he knew we were thin a DT and had an extra OL in damn near the whole game. When you get an advantage you take it.

It wouldn't be a terrible idea to have the extra OL in with how good our WR's are. They'll have to bring in an extra DL, LB, or walk down a safety.

4 of the 5 starting positions are locked in. It’s 1 fricking spot - LG. And it’s 3 guys fighting for the spot.

Can we stop melting like this isn’t normal for most teams right now to still be having position battles going into week 1.
