They'd love to get rid of Roy because he refuses to let them fool with tigerband money.
Instead of giving the money directly to the band director for distribution, put the members of the band on "payroll" to get their stipend. They perform/attend games they should get a weekly stipend.
Keep the $ far far away from the School of Music and the FKing and FQueen.

TGBFTL has no influence over the Athletic Department's decision to pipe in music. The members on TB and Roy King Work their asses off to put out a quality product and to carry on the traditions of LSU football.
Sign the petition and show some support.

No thanks. Not a fan of any kings that associate themselves with LSU

Roy King is only an average director of bands. He needs to be replaced.

Why would I support him if we don't even know why he was put on administrative leave?

Roy King doesn't merely "associate " himself with LSU. He is an alumni of the university and TB long before coming back as associate director under Frank Wickes and Linda Moorehouse. Again, even if he isn't the right man for the job, he doesn't deserve to be realty this way. Fire him for those reasons, not because the university wants TB money. Money that doesn't belong to them.

As more and more time goes by I'm losing all my faith in LSU. We are run by the biggest bunch of clowns I have ever seen. It's pathetic.

Forget him. Can we get rid of the Vet. School guy who wont let Mike the Tiger into his cage.

You are 100% correct. This isn't about Roy king per se, it's about Alexander running this university into the ground by being a greedy bastard. I'm very disturbed at how they have become penny wise and pound foolish by going around and fleecing anyone they think has an extra nickel to spare. The university is acting just like a government entity where instead of looking for places to cut, they are out to grab any free cash they can to feed their largesse.
The university should be operated like a business, they have a golden goose in athletics, but instead of trying to milk that for all its worth they want to starve that cash cow. How much money will they lose next year by having a bad basketball team? Money in free advertisement, concessions, tickets, etc.
I wonder if these idiots realize the amount of donors they're alienating with their bullshite?

If the reasons thrown out behind the leave of absence is 100% truth, then it's a raw deal for King.
The problem, however, is that King's performance as a band director has more items in the "needs improvement" column than the "excels" column. He has no real bargaining power here. If he has taken this situation as an opportunity to be an arse and sue/resign, somebody gave him terrible advice. Wickes could have pulled this off. King, not so much.

A vote for King is a vote for TGBFTL. If you don't like King, so be it.
If you don't want the band, the color guard, and the Golden Girls, then that's another reason to screw King in this fight.
However, erudite LSU fans understand the importance of TGBFTL as integral to the game-day experience and its relevance as an iconic ambassador for LSU, in general.
So, to all you smartys: vote for King, damn it!

We don't receive a weekly stipend, we receive $200/month and if we do something dumb that gets us kicked out of band then we have to pay it back...and honestly, if the school of music doesn't want the golden girls/Colorguard to get stipends then I want to see them with their weekly practice schedules...they practice more than the regular band does...
