The conversations, primarily among SEC school general counsels and university presidents, are considered in the early stages. The talks are described as "not league driven, but membership led." While these discussions are serious in nature, it is unclear as to what avenues the conference or its members will ultimately pursue.
As Masconna pointed out yesterday. These are university presidents and not athletic directors. They know nothing about football or athletics and are more familiar with academics.
Most are probably knee jerk liberals who have no clue about the ramifications of their outrageous threats.
He called it, it’s a greatly exaggerated case of saber rattling

It’s pretty simple concept to understand but Ross wants to get his weiner sucked by ole Miss who is playing a much more blatant worse case for destroying the rules of the ncaa and who is also actively signing players currently ruled ineligible by the sec
This made me think of a great analogy. The other "member institutions" are like the meek coworkers in your office. Behind closed doors and with secret hushed words, they will support the outspoken employee who is standing up for something. They actually agree with it but are too afraid to speak out.
If the outspoken employee is fired, they can say that they never supported it and thought it was a bad idea. If it goes the other way, they reap all of the benefits.

Our position the whole time has been we follow court orders. If the court rules against the players we were never once thinking about playing them. Exactly. So what is Stinky's problem?
He's pissed that LSU didn't vote like he wanted. That's the problem. He needs to go.

All of that is bullshite. The presidents communicate with their AD's. The AD's are in lock step with their presidents. It's also stupid to characterize them as liberals. It has nothing to do with liberal vs conservative. Florida, for one, under DeSantis has chosen conservatives as their Presidents. The Presidents are also advised my Sankey who is warning them that it's a slippery slope, yada yada and they have to take the nuclear option. You can bet the coaches would prefer access to these guys but they have to sing the company line too if just for PR reasons.
The University Presidents and Sankey are clinging to the "amateur student athlete" argument which, as we know, is a fairy tale.

again, it's not NFL camp casualties teams have to worry about when it comes to competitive advantage - it's the teams loaded with 5th, 6th and even 7th year players. The older teams have a huge advantage but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of focus on that.

Thanks for the validation and yes, I do think I am better than you which has a strikingly similar vibe as being pompous. It's nice to not have to deal with POSs like you in the real world. Stay digital there bubba.

I don't buy that. They may advocate penalties, but nobody is talking about expulsion. That's just stupid.

About time Kiffin was put in his place. He's pulled all the talent he could possibly need this season. Why fight this hard over a few players that couldn't make an NFL roster?
If he continues to push this and loses, I won't feel the least bit sorry for him and LSU.

Yeah, I said I won't have sympathy, so that works out for both of us.

Yahoo is garbage. Has been since its inception. The "news" portion is worse than sports. Yahoo Sports is pretty poor though, with regard to facts verses story telling it's a joke.

The SEC hates that LSU is about to skull f the league.
