2023 is the year for us.. our corners will nice, our wideouts will be great, and the offensive line will not allow walker to be touched

The only way Walker plays more than 4 games this year is if Daniels got hurt probably.

There's no way I'm playing him this regular season beyond Southern, New Mexico and UAB to save him for bowl game if needed too.

Maybe 1 SEC game if we are good enough to blow anyone out there but then you probably wont have him for bowl game.

Culotta’s opinion, is another opinion. He wants to speculate, like you and me….

Good idea. I think Howard is better and is the future.

Look, I hate "Punting" on a season, but if Daniels goes down were likely fricked...keep Howard on the bench.

I'd be absolutely fine with Walker getting his 4 bodybag games worth of reps and keeping his redshirt. Let him get his feet wet but don't burn the shirt.

How could anyone want anything but this /\

What happened to coach saying they could not decide between Daniels and Nuss?

LSU

Who is "LSU"? The President? Board of Supervisors? Provost? Why not just say Brian Kelly since he is "LSU" in this instance.

And am I the only one that finds it a bit ridiculous that the HC has to "talk with the player's dad" about whether or not he could/should play?

The kid enrolled to attend school and play football at LSU. He was given a scholarship to play football at LSU. So why should the HC need to discuss personnel decisions with a dad? Kelly is in charge of the football program. First and foremost it is his job to produce results. If he feels making Howard the 2nd team QB is the best decision for the team in furtherance of accomplishing those goals, then that is what he should do UNLESS the kid, not his dad, says he's not ready or comfortable being the 2nd team QB this year.

I suppose Kelly could make a courtesy call to say "Hey, even though we discussed redshirting him previously we think Walker is good enough to be our second team guy and we want to give him that shot. Just wanted to let you know." There's not really any need for discussion. This is not JV football.

What makes you think Kelly is talking to Nuss' dad?
Have I missed something?

If you ever heard Jamie Howard give interviews about Walker, he didn’t want Walker playing as a freshman, especially after Jamie threw all those pick 6s vs Auburn his freshman year. He got a lot of shite from that and he doesn’t want Walker to go through something like that just first year in college.

I understand better now. I still don't get why people are saying the redshirt doesn't matter. Daniels has this year and next. If Walker burns his redshirt, he'll have 2 years after Daniels leaves. What if we need him for 3? It's not like we have a 5 star QB that will be ready to play immediately locked up behind Walker.

You can do both. Maybe the message to Nuss is harsher but these two things are not mutually exclusive.

Walker gets 4 games. I don't see us blowing out many teams this year. I think the redshirt is safe. I worry about playing freshmen QBs before they are ready. If JD gets hurt, is Nuss no longer the guy? Thats the question.

His red shirt might not matter. He could leave after a big true JR year or redshirt soph year.

Only way the RS matters is if he is going to be a red shirt senior
