him. I wouldn't sit around for a 70 yr old man to DECIDE whe he wanted to give me an opportunity.

What does CPM’s age have to do with Hampton missing fall ball due to football?

I was hoping to see more of Mo, nearly every time he got a shot he would get a hit or get on base. Sucks he left in the beginning of the season. Thought he could have got a shot at 2nd base and moved guys around to lose the SS

No, he didn't.

When Mainieri said he “didn’t know how it was going to work for him” at LSU, he might as well have started the kid’s transfer paperwork. That’s running him off whether intentional or not.

Sounds like Pirate think Mainieri should have lied to him to prevent him from wanting to transfer
And you know if that happened he would make a thread crying “Paul lies to his players”. He just adapts his delusion to fit his narrative. Pretty pathetic

How was he "behind" if there wasn't even a season last year? At least you can't claim he was behind because he was a 2 sport athlete...

#IStandWithPirate

He's not wrong. Hampton told Maineri he intended to give up football and focus on baseball and Maineri shits on him for having split time in the first place, causing him to fall behind in his development. You'd seemingly welcome the kid dedicating himself fully to one team.

So what should Paul have told him?

He basically told the kid he didn’t have a place at LSU on the baseball team...a first round MLB talent. It’s so absurdly stupid.

Bro, want to know what's more stupid than that?

Hint, it would turn this into a cyclical post...

And one that passed on 2 million dollars to come play for you...

Where did he say that he wouldn't welcome Hampton to stay?

Because the rest of the team hasn’t spent over half the year every year the past 10 years playing football. Hampton didn’t play fall ball in 2019, spent a couple months with the baseball team in 2020, got hurt, played football again, and came back in January. The rest of the team has been playing baseball, at some level, from the start of 2019 to the present. Hampton hasn’t.

None of them played summer ball. And fall ball was shortened and limited to start. And Paul put a kid at 3B opening day who had less than a week of practice there. So let’s not pretend Fall Ball is some necessary thing to get on the field.

He tells Hampton not to quit football and where he stands right now on the baseball team. And Pirate receives that as “we don’t want you here anymore.”

Some of you are so deep in your hate for Mainieri that y’all say stupid shite that you think actually makes sense and sounds good. There’s nothing wrong with what PM told him.
