He basically told the kid he didn’t have a place at LSU on the baseball team...a first round MLB talent. It’s so absurdly stupid.
Do you think PM would not be playing him if he was playing up to that 1st round ability?

Pawl tells a kid his honest opinion DESPITE it being not in his best interest as the head baseball coach, and this means he's the bad guy here?

How can anyone defend running a first round talent in the outfield off the team? It’s indefensible.

Is this the first it’s been reported that he was going to go full time on baseball and quit football altogether? I hadn’t seen that. That sucks; wish he could have found a role on this team.

Did he or did he not run off a first round talent?

Not saying that Hampton doesn’t work hard, but there’s something to be said for guys who work and improve their skills beyond just what talent people thought they supposedly had. He was behind because he came in trying to do something very hard, play two sports. He got behind because of it.

Whew. Glad I’m not the worst.

Just because he was first round talent doesn’t mean there are not more talented players on the roster

Hampton chose not to be patient and attempt to win a position. That's on him. Not Paul.

He did not. He told a player that other players were ahead of him on the depth chart and that player then decided to go elsewhere instead of fighting to get better at LSU.

I didn’t know how that was going to work out for him because he was so far behind so many guys in our program," Mainieri said. "His opportunity was going to be so far away. He was going to have to be patient in waiting for that opportunity."

He did not. He told a player where he stood in relation to his team mates right now and a likely timeline to get where he wanted to be. That player then decided to transfer. If that’s running off a kid, then every player not starting is being run off

No, he didnt. He basically told him that he thought he was behind and it would be a while before he starts.
Now, if he goes elsewhere and balls out then that's a problem.

I feel like Pirate only participates in threads that discuss how good or bad a coach is. It’s like clockwork
