I don't miss Pulmonary at all even though he did have a good bit of success here

I hope he can enjoy his retirement this time

Weird response but sure I'll bite. I don't expect anyone to care what I agree with. I'm a fan and I watch baseball bc I find it enjoyable and I have my own opinions like most fans. I'm stating that I found his games frustrating for me at times bc I had different opinions on baseball strategy than his. I'm sure there's a situation with one of your favorite teams that you can relate to.
Obviously there's more than one way to win a baseball game.

I think he took the USCe job for a payday and nothing else.

of all the coaches that LSU has had not named Les Miles, he's the one that I disagreed with most on his decisions.

And I thought he made fantastic decisions. He could nurse a mediocre bullpen through more innings than was reasonable to expect. Every now and then he did something goofy early in the season, like trying that pitcher at third base, but none of that mattered, and he never did that later when it counted. IMO, his undoing was his lack of hustle in evaluation and recruiting.

He hit Milazzo 2nd that day.

Prior to March 28, 2021, Will Safford had no starts and was 1-11 at the plate. Paul then:

Started him and hit him 5th @ Tennessee in G3.

Started him and hit him 2nd against Kumar Rocker.

Started him and hit him 2nd against Jack Leiter.

Started him and hit him 2nd against Thomas Schultz.

Safford went a combined 2/15 and never started again.

He took it because he had an oversized ego and thought Jay got too much credit at LSU. He would tell everyone who would listen that the '23 team was actually his players and they wouldn't have been where they were if it wasn't for him.

Paul threw Cole Henry and Jaden Hill at EKU on Friday night at the box and lost - the week before getting no hit by OU.

After 2018 it felt like we had Brian Kelly as our baseball coach

His arc moreso followed Les Miles. National championship coach that got shellacked by the college game's brief transition to small ball and stubbornly committed to an overcorrection through a downward trajectory.

Not really. He’ll get a standing O the next time he’s honored at the Box.

I think the fans got tired of having talent like Nola, Bregman, Lange, Fraley, etc with nothing to show for it.
Lazy assistant hires and lazy recruiting/roster construction will do that.
He did a lot of great things and he loves LSU, but it was time for him to retire.
