Watching the UF game tonight. Midweek game vs. No 6 FSU, they come back from 6 run deficit and blow out the Seminoles.
Compare to consensus #1 LSU to start the season, and as usual our pitchers are barely scraping by, and we struggle to hit anything over the plate...
Per Gainesville.com he is the highest paid coach in the country. I’ve seen a few UF games and they aren’t beating any attendance records over there. The fans just don’t care about baseball as much as LSU fans do.
There’s no reason we can’t have the highest paid coach in the country! It’s the only program, other than football, that actually turns a profit, and this man has proven he can win at all levels of the game.
I’m very rarely a “fire the coach” guy, but the game has very obviously passed CPM by. Go after this man and make him say no! There’s no other institution in the country that has the lore or garners the respect that LSU does in baseball. We consistently have the top, or near top, recruiting class in the nation, but can’t seem to put it together. Recruiting here happens on its own. Go get a guy that can coach those players into consistent winners!

Why would he leave a place with more built in advantages than LSU to come to LSU?

Eta: also, recruiting doesn't just happen on its own.

And Florida doesn't win more consistently than anyone else.

Ha. Why would he leave UF?!

Let’s hire Saban and coach K while we at it.

Money! Plain and simple. Athletic fund can pay it. Why not?
It’s not unheard of for one big program to hire another’s coach away. It’s all about money

Their fans were saying the same thing after they lost to South Florida, North Florida then Florida Gulf Coast. And don't forget Central Florida.

All 3 of them.

Not saying I necessarily want him, but fan support is much greater at LSU

And you don’t have to wear orange....

Money ? Florida is rolling in money. They would out bid us for the laughs.

He's the highest paid Coach in college baseball for a reason.

Explain to me the built in advantages that UF has that LSU doesn’t.

Also, under O’Sullivan, they do win more consistently. It’s taken some time to put it together, but UF is like the buzzsaw that LSU was under Skip. In a time when parity has talent all over the country and any college program can win it all, Florida has been consistent. You can’t argue with that.

Fan support doesn't outweigh the advantage of being the top baseball school in the state that produces the most talent.

If they weren’t fortunate enough to catch an injured LSU pitching staff in the finals two years ago you wouldn’t even know his name

He doesn’t have Joe Alleva, F Queen, and Johnny Cochran, Jr led BOS as his bosses.

They’ve lost 5 games this year against teams like USF, UCF, FGCU and North Florida. Posters like you would have called for him to be fired ten times over already.

How much would UF pay to keep him? That’s the question.
Check this LINK

Our program is WAY more profitable than UF.

It’s just like football. Miami or FSU or any of the others could take these recruits with the right coaching staff and recruiters. Why not take what they have going right and make it our own?

In what alternate universe does LSU have more money than Florida?

I love dumb shite like this. Explain what this means exactly.

And by the way, Skip won a championship about 5 years after the game "passed him by"

I understand what you are saying but I don’t think football and baseball are the only programs at LSU that turn a profit. I could be wrong though
