I think this is dumb but UF is not even close to the job LSU baseball is so let’s just stop that one now. We are still the premier program in the country!

I stand corrected. LSU profits in basketball, but it’s nearly tied with baseball when we’re playing well. When Simmons was here, the basketball team profited the same as the baseball team that reached the finals of the CWS. We’re in the select few programs that actually profit.

Men’s basketball turned a profit with Johnny winking 2 games. Baseball is just consistent at the gate

Doesn't do a damm bit of good to even wish for a coaching change as long as Alleva is here.

Oh my god please no! We would have to sit through a million and a half pitching meetings on the mound. Plus I think we need to think about a young and upcoming coach. That’s just my opinion. I’ll also add I think CPM will right this ship and we will be fine.

That’s all fine and dandy, but when you consistently have the best recruiting classes year in and out, and can’t pitch or hit worth a damn, even to start the season, there’s a problem and it begins at the top. We can do better. I don’t believe LSU could come back in a midweek game like UF did tonight against the number 6 team one country. That takes talent and leadership. Coaching makes up a big part of that equation.

What legitimate coach in their right fricking mind would come to LSU right now with this administration? We lucked into Will Wade and he’s about to be out the door. Look at the Orgeron/Miles fiasco.

I don’t disagree with you. That’s the only thing that keeps us from taking what we want in baseball. It’s almost as if the “powers that be” don’t want elite programs at LSU. Just those that “compete” for conf championships. Sounds like a quote I heard once...

Yep. Orgeron was a fricking ABYSMAL hire. Will got a massive raise. We don’t deserve him. Mainieri is lucky to be at a school that gives two shits about baseball. He has a massive budget for coaches but doesn’t spend it so he can keep it. That’s why we have Gibbs and Ochinko.

My pick would be Butch Thompson at Auburn.

He is not and has never been a good coach. I realize I know nothing, but I'll trust the players that built the dynasty. They don't like him or think much of his ability to coach.

Thank you! We could do worse at any turn. This guy is a total winner and players coach! With the talent that LSU demands every season, we could continue the dynasty!

Access to a bajillion recruits within 3 hours in any direction. They are also completing a new stadium this year, and as mentioned, he is the highest paid in the country already with the same access to a title as LSU would offer.

Quit acting crazy. O'Sulli has choked just as many or more times as Mainieri has, and O'Sulli - like Mainieri - has only 1 national title. They're about the same.

Sullivan is a great coach, but I love how threads like these are started after we lose a midweek game when Florida loses midweek games very frequently.
