It was frustrating to watch at times, but in the bigger picture it WAS the right thing to do.
O's doing the courteous thing to the next staff. You don't want him burning everyone's redshirts, AND running off whatever starters we might have returning. Let Johnson finish this year, leave the issue for the next guy to address.

I was thinking that if they didn’t plug Nuss in this game he must be pretty bad. If max is better than Nuss then we are in bad shape at QB

Absolutely not. Your job as a coach is to put your team in the best position to win. He's saying he chose losing to save a redshirt. It was a mistake to let him finish the season.

Not playing Nuss seems like a "BIGGER PICTURE" move, something that may have come down from Woodward and not from O's decision;
like I said, don't burn redshirts, and don't run off starters. Not saying that was the right move for this game, because like everyone else I was waiting for Nuss to get his shot when things went from 7-0 to 20-7 in a heartbeat.
But basically, it seems like it's set up for next year. Don't run Johnson off by taking his job now. Keep him on roster, let the new coach decide the starter with at least 2 options (Nuss, Johnson) that were here already. And so, don't burn Nuss' redshirt unless there's an injury.
O is gone regardless, so he might have been open to that suggestion. If he were allowed to save his job by beating Bama, it might have been different.

The fact we are worrying about a redshirt is fricking stupid. If Nuss is as good as we proclaim he isn’t going to be here 4 much less 5 years.
If we want to scream nFLU we should expect players to be 3 n out so red shirting shouldn’t be on the table

As good as the hype is on Walker, Nuss has the chance to start next year.

Either him or Howard. Max isn’t a top level SEC qb which I said before the season started and got blasted. Weak arm and i accounts throw in being gun shy and it’s bad to watch.
