Well aware, but the point went right over your head.

This is part of why Orgeron is not going to be coach of LSU next year. You basically gave up a win against Bama....frick O
Johnson played extremely poor, but there is no guarantee that Nuss would have come in and won the game. He may have made the throws, but he also could have thrown some pick sixes. He’s a gunslinger for better or worse.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Max was struggling the entire game. G could've played and still kept his redshirt.
That's what people are saying. How do you not even try in the last minute of the 4th quarter?

That was true years ago...not in today's world! Nuss should have been put in the game!

…for this game. Then we couldn’t use him the rest of the season, even for a play or two if Max lost a shoe on the field.

quote:You just summed up the entire pathetic existence of Ed Orgeron, and your undying support of that pathetic existence, in one sentence. “We can’t play against Alabama even though we have them on the ropes because then we couldn’t play against UL Monroe without losing a year.” frick Ed Orgeron, frick you, and frick anyone who ever considered having thoughts like you.
If he played in this game, he couldn’t play in any other game this year. Meaning he couldn’t play against ULM, and if Max went out, even for a play, we’d be burning his redshirt

Using redshirts is a luxury due to having an effective offense and QB against top teams. We don't have that luxury. If you think a player can help you get a win against the #2 team in America, you play him and go for the win. Maybe he didn't feel Nuss could help, but the redshirt talk is stupid to me. Max was close to getting knocked out of the game as it was with the targeting play that was not called and had to go into the tent.

And Nuss would have played better. Basically Johnson cost LSU the game and Orgeron cosigned on it by keeping him in there. Johnson cost LSU the game tonight with his shite play.

You’re an angry little man. Try stepping outside your brain and realize there’s more factors at play here than the whims of fans clamoring for a player to play in the heat of the moment. Coaches have to think big picture and honor wishes of players and parents.

Max sucked, Etling would have won this game.

Please tell me you’re joking. If you have a chance to beat Alabama at Alabama and you don’t use every possible weapon at your disposal then you are a fricking idiot.
The fact that this post is so popular hammers home how stupid most of you are.

You poor ignorant bastard.

so basically we have nuss as a backup for one game and then it is a walkon unless nuss agrees to burn a year of eligibility

The point is that he would've more than likely played better.
You can worry about the 'what ifs' in the remaining games or you could try to win a game vs Alabama.
If you burn his redshirt, then you burn it. He more than likely won't be here for 4 years anyway.
Max was obviously struggling.
Didn't bother Riley to bench Rattler.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. You play to win the game.

I liked Etling, but in 2017 we played really well on D at Bama and ran the ball pretty well, but Etling missed wide open WRs over and over again downfield and he finished with less than 120 total yards with 0 TDs and an interception. And they shut us out 10-0 in 2016.
