If this was Nuss's parents decision, it was a bad one. Couldn't imagine being able to play in the SEC against Bama. I guess they figured it would be a blow out and it could ruin him. You just don't get to many chances anymore. Ask Myles Brennan. It's not 2015, RS's don't mean shite anymore.

Which is a correct coaching move

Watch his career.

He either becomes starter and plays for 2 seasons and goes pro or he eventually transfers out anyways.

He signs up to play football. Pretty sure Nuss would have LOVED to play tonight. Also, would have given him more on inside track towards starting next season and not needing a fricking redshirt. Beating Bama and winning out would have been special for him. He was robbed of that tonight.

Riley had the preseason Heisman favorite in Spencer Rattler and he had no problem pulling him and turning the team over to his true freshman QB so that he might continue to win football games.

You don’t see the timing difference and what the team is competing for difference in your analogy?

Nuss should have played early in season, don’t burn his shot now

O is basically telling the team he is not doing everything to win the game.

This is the dumbest shite I’ve ever heard of.

“We didn’t get him a series because we didn’t want to burn his redshirt — although this wouldn’t have burned his redshirt. We’re accounting for a very specific scenario in which max johnson gets hurt in the first quarter of our last game”

I can't see how it would be a parents decision.

You want to see your guy replace the struggling starter. Period. Unseat him. This win would have meant a lot.

Either he starts next year or he is gone anyways.

He still has 3 more seasons left.

What’s the point of a redshirt these days?

Players are going hit the portal, or in LSU’s case we’ll get one good year (sophomore year) out of them.

Talked to the frickin family? Are you kids ddi g me! You came to play football and then d the coach says it’s time to play football you get your fat arse out there and play! We don’t not ask much Mkt and daddy if you can play. Can you imagine coach saying ‘Mr Cannon is it ok if Billy plays tonight?’ frick that shite.

You rarely get the chance to play a down and unprepared Bama team. If I was a QB, I’d rather look like a star playing this Bama team than take a chance with next year’s team. Getting that W over Bama would do wonders for any QB’s career.

Please tell me you’re joking. If you have a chance to beat Alabama at Alabama and you don’t use every possible weapon at your disposal then you are a fricking idiot.

Alabama rarely has a down year and if you don’t take advantage of it and give LSU the best opportunity to win football games then you don’t understand what the university paid you millions of dollars to do.

If that was Nuss’s and his families wish not to burn his redshirt then the staff is completely justified in not playing him.

Stop saying things like this. It gives the appearance stupid people like Ed Orgeron and others in this thread have any idea what’s going on. He could have played tonight and still played next year as if nothing ever happened.

Nussmeir won’t be here in 2025. The redshirt doesn’t matter.
Wow, I was just arguing this shite last weekend and nobody even cared and people actually thought I was crazy, NOW people accept how stupid it is?

Like I said, I wanted Nuss to start vs Bama. Looking at it now, still unbelievable, but we would have won if Nuss started.
