This isn't bad but I think our best hitting line up would have deichmann at first and Chris Reid at second. Adams is going to struggle in sec play with the offspeed stuff and he must not be that great defensively if CPM rather play (5'9) jordan over him (6'4) at first. I really like Reid, he walks a lot and just knows how to get on base.

Makes sense...let the guy that is hitting 0.083 start (that is proving for the 3rd time he can't hit/start) and don't start Romero (hitting 0.750).

Slide Deichmann to 2B and Romero/Wofford/Adams at 1B.

Are you aware the stats are publicly available?

3. Fraley CF
4. Beau Jordan LF
5. Deichmann 1B
6. Bryce Jordan DH
7. Papierski C
8. Lochridge 3B

Is it just me or did k rob look like shite? I have never really thought the kid had a lot of potential, now I'm starting to think he has none.

He looked like typical krob. Beating a whole bunch of pitches into the dirt.

Hopefully he turns it around

Im not sure if there is anything to "turn around." He is in year 3 and has shown nothing at all. I think at this point we need to accept he is a one way train. Still nothing to be ashamed of for him, he made it further than most

I love KR's heart & choice of women. But he just does not have an SEC caliber bat. This is his 3yr, you either have hitting down or you don't.

Yeah dont see KRob holding onto a starting spot for long if he keeps this up for a 3rd year. Coach has given him every chance to earn a spot and he just isn't doing it. Dawson struggled at the plate more than anyone all weekend though IMO. He might be slick defensively, but man his bat was simply terrible (5 K's and a GiDP in 7 plate appearances).

Still skeptical of the bats, hitting .221 against essentially BP all weekend is a little worrisome, but at least we knocked it out of the park on Sunday. Not much to go on yet, this next week will tell us a little more. Lamar went 3-0 against Southeast Missouri State this weekend. Sacramento State went 2-1 against Auburn.

Pitching was pretty much as expected, very very good.

Wofford getting time in LF or 1b or for whoever isn't hitting.
Romero keeps it up and paps keeps doing nothing they switch the 2-1 rotation.

Sacramento St. is the best competition until SEC play, let's see if these guys sink or swim. Can go back to the starters in the Fordham and Ball series if necessary and they'll have enough reps before SEC play.

I think you are correct. it's hard not to consider their bats last year tho so maybe they will improve a lot this being their second year. Bryce not hitting cinci pitching is concerning. imo, PM should have him on his "probation" list and continue to give these new guys lots of AB's.

As long as they are getting on base I dont care how they do it. 7 BB/HBP between the two of them for the weekend is nuts

Decent SEC offense would have ripped Valek, he will be a better SEC relief situational guy in SEC play.

Zardon would have been the best bat in this lineup had he stayed

This is probably the best offensive lineup possible. I would switch Duplantis and Freeman, FWIW. Something about Freeman just screams "leadoff" to me.

Pap hit more balls harder than anyone his weekend. He's clearly better defensively which is 10x more important for the position. He did nothing but help solidify his spot IMO.
