I got the feeling that A&M was playing physical and holding LSU receivers all game. For some reason, refs didn't start calling it until the last LSU drive.

Maybe late in the game, aggies secondary was tired and just could not keep the aggressive coverage up.

So the recievers couldn't get open against Auburn, Tennessee, Arkansas or A&M.
Interesting. So we have blamed the Oline, RB's, offensive coordinator.
Running out of folks to blame.

If JD handed off on the fumble play instead of keeping it, Emery gets a huge gain and maybe a TD.

End zone cam showed a nice hole.

When the OL buckles the pressure forces our QB out. This disrupts timing and our receivers don't do a great job of working back to our QB.
This week we will face a superior DL and elite DB's, too.

He said the receivers were open in the other games but this game they didn’t get a lot of separation. Daniels still has to give his receivers a chance to make a play.

We should have continued to pound it with the running game.

You’re right. Not sure how our OC can’t understand the concept that you take what the defense gives you. It’s mind boggling.

No deep threat and no pocket passer. Roll him out and quick throws. That’s the fix.

Guys often don’t look open when the defense is dropping 8 in zone, especially over the middle and in the flats. It’s up to the QB to find the sport spots and lead receivers into those spots. A&M didn’t play zone 100% of the time, but they did play a fair amount of it and we’ve all seen how much it makes Daniels get nervous and hold the ball.

If they are playing zone, you also need multiple targets flooding the roll side at different levels to get the defense moving and think about who they have to pick up. Combined with Daniels’ running ability, that can tip the scales and make zone coverage a disadvantage for them.

The Two drops on third down really hurt.

There were plenty of times that he had guys open early in the play over the middle and wouldn’t pull the trigger

With the exception of the fumble and the over throw to Emery on the wheel route, I didn’t think JD played that bad. He’s definitely played a lot worse.

When he did let it fly, he was pretty accurate. It's just that he held it to long before making a decision to pull it down and run or whatever.

I will say that I didn't see any guys open on screen that he was not seeing (like I have seen in some past games) and I don't recall the announcers saying LSU had guys open that he didn't throw to. Also, we had some obvious dropped passes that impacted things as well (one in the end zone and one by Lacy that could have either been a TD or likely would have led to one).

LSU still scored more than a&m averages on offense, but the D played a really bad game.

The need to have WRs wide open is not a reasonable expectation. You have to throw it in windows. You have to throw it on time. You have to anticipate throws to do that well.

I'm will to accept that against A&M, players weren't running free like they were in other games. But, that's not the problem. That is a low, low bar to set and way too low to win big.

So the fact that Daniels has definitely played a lot worse is supposed to make it ok? If the strength of our team is supposed to be our receiving corps and we have a QB who, more often than not, can’t or won’t get them the ball, that’s not a good thing.

While this is 100% accurate, there are many on this board who are going to shite on Daniels any chance they get. Sad, but true.

In fairness, our offense didn’t get very many opportunities. That’s what happens when defense can’t stop the run.

mental block he has about throwing the ball over the middle and further than 5-10 yards Down the field.

Have you seen his deep passes? JD doesn’t throw a very good ball, most of the time his deep passes are either terrible, wobbly ducks or giant moon balls w/way 2 much air & severely under thrown.

Maybe he’s hesitant to throw the deep ball bc HE CANT THROW IT DEEP?

BTW: If LSUs Defense couldn't stop the A&M Running game what chance in HELL do they have at stopping UGAs rushing attack Saturday?

Or let Walker run the show at SECC. There’s a very good chance with nothing to lose really he might do to Georgia what jimbo’s freshman did to us last Saturday.
Walker will at least give us a deep threat !
With Kirby having no concern about deep balls from Jayden, how much more simple does it become to defeat LSU offense.
