Thought this was an interesting list. He had 4 teams represented which I think is what we're more used to seeing rather than just from the final 2 teams. He gives his reasoning on why he went Cooper over Skenes. Almost seems unfair there were only 2 pitcher spots. Also, I wish there was a game today.

No Skenes is about the most stupid possible choice you could make.

I don’t think it’s that stupid. I would put Skenes on there, but I see his reasoning for Coop. I would probably say Skenes over Floyd, but I’m sure Floyd is up there for him because we didn’t have to see Skenes vs Florida.

The “tournament” was more than the championship series. If not for Skenes LSU would not have even been in championship series.

I get this, but at the same time one could argue for tabbing Floyd and Cooper. Floyd raised his game from good to great and championship level. Cooper pitched out of his mind and accomplished something no one saw coming. Absolutely no disrespect to Skenes, but he was exactly who we thought he was, the others far exceeded expectations.

Ty Floyd, Skenes, and Cooper were all deserving of being on the all tournament team. I do understand how it is hard to give the MOP to Skenes when he didn't pitch in the CWS Championship series but he was so dominant in the other 2 games its really hard not to give him the edge. In a perfect scenario he pitches 1-3 innings to close out game 3 and then its a no brainer.

I didn’t watch too many other teams games but what about Pearson in the OF? Makes a game saving defensive play and hit the bomb early in game 3

It seems unfair that he didn’t add Skenes because we didn’t see him in the championship series, yet he added a player from Wake. It’s a self admission that the tourney was greater than just the championship series. If that is the case, then Skenes was the key player to get us there.

Or we can just add one more pitcher spot, which is well deserved, and put Skenes where he belongs.

(Starter) Skenes 15 2/3inn 7H 2ER 21SO 2BB 1.18ERA
Vs Tenn
Vs Wake

(Relief) Cooper 9 2/3inn 5H 1ER 9SO 3BB 0.98ERA
Vs Tenn
Vs Tenn
Vs Wake

Vs UF
Vs UF

They both deserve it, but I can’t even be mad Cooper is on there.

Cooper was MOP for this team at Omaha. Make no mistake about that. Otherwise, you didn’t watch the games.

Who would you replace? I agree with Cooper being there, so it’s down to Ty and Skenes. If you’re unsure and are splitting hairs, Ty had an incredible outing in the Championship series whereas Skenes did not.

I could see adding a third pitcher, but these “tournament teams” often only have 2.

(Starter) Floyd 13inn 7H 5ER 5BB 27SO 3.46ERA

L Vs Wake
W Vs UF (Game 1)

That’s what got him on there. Dude was ridiculous in the biggest game.

The Wake catcher and Tenn SS didn’t play in the championship series either.

Pretty sure Cooper’s only run in the entire CWS was the HR that came out Jobert’s glove at the wall.
Dude was impressive the entire series.

Limiting it to 2 pitchers is a stupid method. Of course maybe he was avoiding having 3 or 4 LSU pitchers on the list.

A lot of LSU names on that list that got shite on by a lot of people on this board at times during the season.

you’re hilarious. Cooper made your arse eat crow. Yeah, I TOLD you that in 2022 he was LSUs best pitcher down the stretch but all people like you want to do is ducking use “overall stats”. Thankfully, Jay Johnson doesn’t read your shite about players when making out a roster otherwise Milazzo and Cooper wouldn’t have played.

You CANNOT LOOK AT OVERALL STATS at the r beginning of a season versus down the stretch. You have to have a feel for the player and understand what they are made of.
This game is as much or more between the ears as much as it is athletically.
