The ball was in their court the whole time, and other coaches have left their school and still been able to coach their teams to the end. There is a reason that Ole Miss is losing the war of opinions. They don't have the high ground. An ultimatum with a follow through was the only way to put an end to it, they knew it, but as long as Lane was the coach then he was still the coach there. They knew he wasn't staying, he didn't sign the extension.

I'm glad that Keith Carter has confirmed that he knew Kiffin was leaving for weeks, and that he didn't even bother to do a coaching search during that process.

This dipshite literally gave a sideline interview at the Egg Bowl and said “i believe Lane is staying.”

Ole Miss AD seems like he's incompetent. His comments are very inconsistent and he seems to be making this personal.

Carter also thought up until Saturday that Lane Kiffin would be returning to Ole Miss despite the obvious evidence that he wasn’t in the form of an unsigned contract extension. They were both wrong.

Are you kidding me? LK gets paid incentives by LSU for OM's playoff performance. Sending CWJ back only benefits LK financially.

He might have assumed that at some point the AD would act like an adult and do what was best for the program to close out their best season in 70 years.

I knew several weeks ago that there wasn’t gonna be anyway out of going to Dallas this weekend with the in-laws. Doesn’t mean I’m gonna stop thinking about/trying to get out of it.
