How does it not matter ? Even if we beat Bama it ends up being a 3 way tie

This season feels a lot different with one less loss

FSU was more well rounded than we were. We absolutely threw that game away. We also should have won Ole Miss. Alabama was better.

this is how i feel

i felt like if we had diggs...we are up so much at half on FSU the game turns out to be different

i felt like we had tons of opportunity against ole miss to put the game away

alabama..if jayden doesnt get hurt, prolly lose by 7. they were just better.

meh....you could argue it meant a lot.

Yes, OM is the game that should have been won by LSU.

Had LSU won that game and still lost to Bama, LSu would have had 1 sec loss.....had Bama not survived Aubby, it would have made things really interesting at the end!

LSU would have been squarely in the conversation.

It was really the only “bad” loss we had. FSU should have been in the playoffs and Bama made the playoffs. While I hate to have lost either game there is less shame in those losses compared to Ole Piss. It hurt us in rankings and perception. People still don’t respect Ole Piss and they shouldn’t.

I agree BK has us on the right path but losing that game and our defensive incompetence that night was inexcusable imo.

This was more than just a loss with a single play making the difference.
Our defense was embarrassed in that game and the perception of LSU football was tarnished by a level of incompetence i do not think i have ever seen from an LSU defense .

9 point lead with 7 minutes left

Just an above average defense gets out of there with the win

Ole Miss 2023 joins TAMU 2018 as the most shameful college football contests LSU has participated in. The only solace is that even the winners should be embarrassed for having been a part of them. Those games are a stain on the sport. Crap like that is how soccer creeps up.

Bama game cost us the most. Had we beaten bama we’d have finished 7-1 in SEC and played IGA in SECCG.

ehhh I think we'd have beaten FSU with a game or two under our belts....but if we're just discussing that night, if you want to play the "could have been" game, I'd say LSU was extremely lucky they weren't down big at the half. FSU squandered some opportunities but moved the ball at will on our shitty D

In the grand scheme of things the loss didnt really matter that much this season

LSU Ole Miss means something 100% of the time

Losing to Ole Miss means something 100% of the time

Had they beat Ole Miss, it would be the “signature” win of the season

No, it wouldn't Ole Miss is ranked lower than Missouri already. They wouldn't be in the top 20 right now if we won. Missouri was a signature win we just didn't know it at the time. They would have had an argument to make the playoff if they beat us and UGA was undefeated still.

DEFENSE,DEFENSE,DEFENSE, we would be 10-2 for sure. To many players wide open all night. One more minute on the clock we win. House needs to be let go.

Not really. If you watch the slow motion instant replay Hiltons right hand was pushed into his left hand by the db right before the ball made contact with Hiltons
hands preventing him from grasping the ball.

ball went right through hiltons hands. what a shame.

hard to pull in a jump ball with a DB hanging on one arm.

This!! I wish people would stop talking about that play as if it was Hilton's fault. He did all he could to catch it, but it's kinda hard to catch a bullet with one hand!

If Christ Hilton could have somehow come down with that catch or if Daniels pulled the ball and threw to Nabers in the flat on the previous possession I think the narrative around our team would have been significantly different.
