In the grand scheme of things the loss didnt really matter that much this season. I would say that is the one game that we should have won but lost. Florida State and Bama were better teams. The only consequence of the lost was basically going to the Outback bowl versus the Peach Bowl. In which, I imagine that whatever players opt out for this bowl would have opted out for the peach bowl too. The thing that sucks the most is the waste of an amazing offense. But that even got kind of vindicated with Jayden winning the Heisman. I still think this program is on an upward trajectory and have faith in BK.

I think it matters in a sense that instead of LSU being #13 they would be a 10 win top 8 team and all the graphics showing what next year’s playoff would look like would show LSU in it.

For the bowl game it’s negligible but we still should have won the game.

It made a difference perception wise.

Had they beat Ole Miss, it would be the “signature” win of the season

I can't get on board with this. FSU was better early maybe, but I'd have liked to have seen us play them while our offense was humming, even while they still had Travis.

Bama probably should have lost to a bad Auburn team as well, so I'm not really comfortable saying they're obviously better than we are.

was florida state the better team? if we score on those drives we are up huge at half time. in the realm of 24-7 going to half

if that was the case, they dont beat us. imo if we would have had diggs that game they do not beat us

hilton should have caught the ball against ole miss

should have been 11-1 right now.

Could’ve benefited from a better defense. Didn’t know how our QB was a Heisman winner quite yet, but it’s amazing to think that he hit the WR in the hands in the end zone and if it gets caught we win. Can’t boil that game down to one play, but that play does show that he was at his best all year.

One catch and the hit job in Bama game could’ve turned the whole season.

hard to pull in a jump ball with a DB hanging on one arm.

Yeah I agree that it would be a signature win and NY6 Bowl Games should absolutely matter. That’s a much better bowl to go to compared to the Reliaquest bowl. LSU should’ve been a NY6 team at least this year

Twice.

Jayden dropped a dime about 60 yards down field on the first possession that Hilton dove for, dropped, and LSU punted 2 plays later.

ETA: also still so mad about that uncalled pick play on 4th and goal for Ole Miss on their first possession. Ole Miss WR blocked Penn with 2 hands 8 yards off the ball before the ball was thrown. They don't get that, LSU wins the game.

ETA2: I just watched a replay of the first Hilton drop and now I'm even more frustrated. It was a PERFECT pass with 55 air yards. If Hilton just keeps running, it's a touchdown.

Flat state game - Our offense was yet to find its groove. The loss is understandable.

If Bama didnt resort to Turner-ing JD5 it could have come down to the last drive like the Mizzou game.

Of course not. The defense gave up 706 yards. That’s disgusting.

If Kelly let’s us go for it with the lead on 4th and 5 we probably win. Can’t punt and rely on the defense to get a stop.

FSU was more well rounded than we were. We absolutely threw that game away. We also should have won Ole Miss. Alabama was better.

False narrative. Ball was on target. Defender swiped Hiltons right arm away at point of catch.

Bama was scoring against our defense with much more ease than Mizzou was.

It made a difference to my FanDuel account.

I had a 4 leg parlay for LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon and Penn ST to all have 10+ win regular seasons at +1250.

I agree, but at this point it's all conjecture.

Was our offense running roughshod over Bama? Yes.

Was our defense playing down to it's normal standard? Also yes.

That said, if JD was still in the game it's not inconceivable that our defense might have gotten a stop or two, or maybe a turnover that would have made the game competitive (cough cough, Mizzou, cough...).

They might have won, they might have lost, but who knows?

I would have liked to see how it played out, but thug Turner ensured it would never happen.

I would disagree because Wisky in the reliaquest is a bit of a turd.

Hope House remembers that disaster and Kelly is trying to figure out what happened when he reviews the coaches during evaluation period.
