Not to beat a dead horse, but WTF with Giles...

There's a decent article about how Burrow started extra practice with the WR corps as soon as he arrived on campus.
LINK
It talks about how Jefferson has emerged, and how others have also. People are quoted talking about Jefferson, Anderson, Chase and Marshall specifically. The article also mentions Sullivan a couple times.
Which brings up the elephant in the room- Giles was expected to be the clear leader of this group, he had by far the most experience and stats. Everyone knew he wasn't the most gifted, but I think we expected he would be the most consistent. And yet, the article goes so far as to list some receiving stats, and they list:
Justin Jefferson 7 27 453 16.8 2 65 64.7
Stephen Sullivan 7 14 173 12.4 1 40 24.7
Dee Anderson 7 12 154 12.8 0 28 22.0
Foster Moreau 7 9 115 12.8 0 24 16.4
Ja'Marr Chase 7 9 105 11.7 2 22 15.0
Terrace Marshall Jr. 7 7 124 17.7 0 52 17.7
So we've gone from expecting Giles to be the main guy, to dropping him from the list in favor of a TE.
I'm not banging on the guy, it's just mystifying how he's completely vanished.

Not sure what I would do without my weekly reminder of how much of a disappointment Giles is.

In the Big12 he was fast and big...
In the SEC he is slow and small...

had he caught those 2 wide open screen passes maybe he would get more chances

He put up good numbers in an offense where multiple WRs have put up good numbers. He doesn't have the pure athleticism that's required to thrive in the SEC.
Don't think much more has to be said about it.

Right. Goes to show you how superior the athletes are in the Southeastern Conference

I think Giles’ drops early on have led to a mental block of some kind. I really do feel bad for him and hope he recovers or finds something to get his confidence back up.

It doesnt just end with Giles
Giles was supposed to be the man - B12 turns out offensive weapons. Turns out to be a dud
Fehoko was supposed to just be a rotational player - B12 defensive players? lulz. Dude is a rockstar
Cush is the lowest rated olineman we have - depth player only. Clearly the best and most consistent linemen we have
Sometimes are you just have to let things play out. Projections aren't perfect.

Coaches get evaluations wrong all the time. Just like under Les, there was always one guy getting praise that never pans out. This is Ed's rt now. And i laugh, because people would call the other coach a liar if he said the same shite about Giles as Ed did.

Yea Fehoko was a top rated player coming out of High School and played well at TT. Zero people at LSU thought he was just rotational. I agree with the rest though.

News alert! Not all transfers work out! If I had to pick 4 out of 5, I think we busted on the right one.
Burrow - Successful Transfer
Fehoko - Successful Transfer
Tracy - Successful Transfer
Alexander - Descent Transfer
Giles - Disaster Transfer

He's just not that good.
Honestly, Giles is one muffed punt away from never seeing the field again, in my opinion.

I'm sure he is disappointed with his season. Why keep bringing it up?

You want me to believe the fanbase actually thought a dude from texas tech was going to come to LSU and be our best DL? Hell I bet none of the coaches thought he was going to be this good. Rotational at LSU is starter at the majority of schools in the country.

Giles has done...bupkus. Don't know why. I think a lot may have to do with not getting open, but cannot always see the routes on TV. He has dropped a couple which one absolutely CANNOT do if one is a leader.

I resent him a little less since they took away #7.
