I think Jeff impulsively reacted by pointing(at that moment he called him out swinging) and paused realizing he didn't go but it was too late. Then he finished his call with the hammer. That wasn't even close to warrant a strike call by the plate. That should have been checked. First thing I said when they quickly went to commercial was espn protected that call for sure

I know it's not that bad.

Does anyone know what it is in his last 40? How many hits and how many strikeouts?

It sure seems like the strikeouts outnumber the hits...maybe by double.

WTF is Jeff Head doing in the CWS? He’s known as one of the worst umps with a bad attitude.

Thats why he is there. In sports officiating, the worse you are the more you get promoted.

He’s batting .320 with 20 home runs and like 70rbi’s. You must’ve missed a lot of games brother

Based on the way he gets torched on here at times, I can see where people that haven’t watched regularly would think he’s hitting.200-.250 with single digit HRs.

That’s like me and Stanfield. I know he’s done it but I never see it.

The Bear also made several good defensive plays. Besides 3(?) unassisted groundouts that he registered he also made a pivotal play in the 9th. Evans induced a comeback to the mound with 1 out & a runner on 1st & he almost threw that ball away. Jared made a great adjustment on the potential wild throw to first. That may have saved the game. Keep your head up Bear. Great things are ahead of you.

All of this. Baseball is hard at times especially when you’re struggling but he’s not taking it to the field. That’s maturity. And he’ll get his this week I promise you. And the retards calling him out will be back under their moms beds lurking in the dark.

I really wish they would have shown the replay. Would be nice if someone took a video of it at the game.

Arkansas radio guys complained about Jeff Head for at least 3 innings straight.

He didn't, but they won't show that on strike 3.

There were questionable calls all night for both sides. Chalk thst one up to "you win some, you lose some but in the end they balance out"

Strike zone was a bit low and a bit wide to the right handed batters' box, but pretty consistently so all night.

You didn’t watch last night? Stanfield had a hit and an RBI.

After rewatching the call I’m not so sure the umpire didn’t call the pitch a strike and it had nothing to do with Bear’s check swing. Watch the umpire’s reaction to the pitch. Crazy bad call, either way!

He very clearly called it on the swing. The reason for the hesitation after that is because the pitch was in the dirt and the out wasn’t recorded until the catcher tagged Jones.

With that said, I don’t think he went and it was too close for the home plate umpire to call without getting help either way. But that’s Jeff Head for you.
