How in the hell does Ohio St pass us in the polls?

They don't have any wins that compare to ours over Texas.

It's the northern media, coaches propping them up for no good reason other than regional bias.

Not a huge deal, as our schedule is plenty strong enough to overtake them fairly quickly, just nags at me a little.

Their win at Nebraska was impressive. Not that difficult to grasp

It's more demographics than geography. They need eyeballs on screens. If USC or UCLA was plausibly worth a shite the hype machine would be working overtime for them.

We were off and they slaughtered Nebraska on the road n a hostile energized environment. They look like maybe the most complete team imo.

Nebraska blows, that win was not impressive at all. 4-8 team last year...

Yeah Nebraska couldn’t stop them, Nebraska couldn’t score, Nebraska blow out at home.
I don’t understand why Nebraska started running the option from the 90s it worked and then they stopped.

It is not regional bias per se. It is anti-conference bias. Poll voters don't want to put too many teams from one conference in the top four. I'm actually surprised UGA is still in there and hasn't been jumped by another team outside the SEC.

It's more recency bias than anything. The Buckeyes looked really good last night.

Nebraska might also suck though. If anyone saw their game against Illinois, they know they should've lost. Tough to judge Ohio State right now.

They do look solid in all phases. I've been wondering why they weren't higher.

Considering Bama, us, and AU all will play each other they know barring any hiccups they going to move into one of those spots anyway.

First, WTF is the "northern media"?

Second, do you understand how AP poll works? A state gets a vote for every two FBS programs in a state.

Therefore, states like Texas and Florida have more voters than New York and Pennsylvania. Many northern states don't have any voters - Maine, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Delaware. Whereas, every southern state has at least one voter, with most having 2 or 3.

Third, maybe you are annoyed with Mid-western/rust belt voters?

To not respect Ohio State, I think, shows a little bias as well.
We are 4 games into the season. OSU will have an off week at some point, too.
How do you combat bias?
WIN!

I’m from the south and hate the Big 10 and I think OSU has been the most impressive team so far.

Polls. Don’t. Matter.

Win the West, get to Atlanta and a shot at the playoff. That’s all that matters.

Besides, over the next few weeks, we play Florida, Auburn, and Alabama. Win those and we’ll get all the respect you could ever want.

Based on everything we've seen this year, I don't have a problem with Ohio State a notch ahead of us at this point in the season. The two that don't belong ahead of us right now are Clemson and Georgia. If we keep winning our games, we'll be in the right spot at the end of the year.
